NBA Set To Allow Players To Replace Last Name On Jerseys With Social Statements
Some athletes and fans have been very vocal about their thoughts on the NBA's return, claiming it would only be a distraction from what really needs to be focused on.
Well according to reports, the league is now working on a plan to allow players to make their voices heard, even while on the court.
ShamsCharania, from The Athletic's, revealed that the NBA and the NBA Players Association are currently working on a way to allow players to switch their last names on the back of their jersey to statements that support social movements.
Players in the league will be able to wear "Black Lives Matter" across the back of their jerseys for the first 12 games of the resumed season.
