ERYKAH BADU ONCE AGAIN INSINUATES THAT BEYONC COPIED HER STYLE

Erykah Badu has again suggested that Beyonc has imitated her style on the alternate album cover for her upcoming album act ii:Cowboy Carter.

On Wednesday (March 20), Beyonc released the limited edition artwork for her upcoming Country-inspired album yesterday (March 20) which features her naked except for a sash that reads "act ii BEYINC ". In the image, she also has her hair braided with beaded bang and is holding a lit cigar.

Upon catching wind of the cover Badu shared it on her Instagram Stories along with the caption "Hmmm."

Badu also wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "To JAY-Z. Say somethin Jay. You gone let this woman and these bees do this to me?? ??."

Badu appears to be taking issue with Queen B's hair in the image which mirrors a style the "On & On" singer has worn in the past.

The iconic neo-soul singer previously called Beyonc out, accusing her of biting her style when it comes to hats.

While on her Renaissance Tour last year, B wore a metallic, wide-brimmed hat similar to one Badu has worn a lot over the years.

She commented with the same "Hmmm," underneath a picture of Bey's outfit. Badu then posted a picture of herself performing in a hat similar hat, adding: "I guess I'm everyone's stylist. favorite chrome mirror hat."

Beyonc appeared to take the rare step of responding to the shade on a subsequent tour stop in Massachusetts.

During a performance of "Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)," Beyonc skipped her usual shoutout to Lizzo and replaced her name with extra mentions of Erykah Badu, saying her surname four times.

She replaced the original lyrics, "Badu, Lizzo, Kelly Rowl" with: "Badu, Badu, Badu, Badu."

Cowboy Carter is currently scheduled for release on March 29 after it was surprisingly announced in a Super Bowl commercial for Verizon.

The album will see Beyonc explore the country genre and she has teased some surprise guest artists on the project.

In a statement discussing the inspiration for the album, she said: "I have a few surprises on the album, and have collaborated with some brilliant artists who I deeply respect. I hope that you can hear my heart and soul, and all the love and passion that I poured into every detail and every sound."
