FUTURE, METRO BOOMIN & KENDRICK LAMAR MATCH DRAKE'S CHART FEAT AS 'LIKE THAT' STAYS NO. 1

Future, Metro Boomin and Kendrick Lamar took the Hip Hop world by storm with the release of "Like That," and its grip on the culture reflects in its charting dominance.

On Monday (April 15), Billboard reported that the scathing diss track aimed at Drake and J. Cole is going steady, as it has retained the No. 1 spot on their Hot 100 tally for the third consecutive week.

This makes it the second rap song to ever claim the top spot in the first three weeks upon its release, following Drake's Scorpion joint "Nice for What" back in early 2018.

Future rapper and Metro dropped their collaborative album We Don't Trust You in late March, on which the Compton MC takes a number of shots at his fellow titans.

The guest verse on "Like That" begins with a mention of Drizzy and Cole's No. 1 single "First Person Shooter," with accusations of "sneak dissin.'"

"Yeah, get up with me/ Fuck sneak dissin', first person shooter/ I hope they came with three switches," he raps.

K.Dot then directly references "the big three," which is commonly believed to be him, Drake and J. Cole, claiming it's only him at the top of the rap chain. He also compares himself to Prince and the others to Michael Jackson, suggesting his work will outlive both of them.

"Think I won't drop the location? I still got PTSD/ Muthafuck the big three, n-gga, it's just big me/ N-gga, bum, what? I'm really like that/ And your best work is a light pack/ N-gga, Prince outlived Mike Jack," he spits.

The 36-year-old concludes by referencing the Canadian superstar's 2023 album For All the Dogs and Stephen King's 1983 novel Pet Sematary with: "N-gga, bum, 'fore all your dogs gettin' buried/ That's a K with all these nines, he gon' see Pet Sematary."

The beef has since escalated a great deal, with Rick Ross, The Weeknd and A$AP Rocky joining the California native's side and Cole withdrawing from the beef after releasing a diss track of his own.
