Chance The Rapper Responds To Critics Who Say He 'Fell Off': I Can Either Agree With It, Or I Can Live My Life

Chance The Rapper (real name Chancelor Bennett) says he may have fallen off, but at least he was on!

During a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, the three-time Grammy Award winner opened up about his true feelings toward people who say he "fell off." His comments came in response to Charlamagne tha God asking,

"how hard it is to not feed into criticism you may see of yourself online?"

Chance The Rapper replied,

"To me, it's like I can do one or two things. I can either agree with it, or I can live my life. If I agree with it, then that means 'The Breakfast Club' fell off, 'cause y'all don't have people who fell off sitting in your chair - I don't think. So I feel like I gotta stay on my path."

He continued,

"N***as was saying I fell off when I was in high school. I made four mixtapes! N***as was telling me in high school, 'Your last tape was better.' I'm like, 'N***a, I'm 15!' ... I can joke about it, but it is tough, but it's like, I don't know, what can I say? Tell people that my feelings are hurt?"

And the comments from his haters aren't the only thing Chance The Rapper is responding to. As previously reported, the Coloring Book artist recently opened up about a viral video that showed his friend Kanye West having "an episode."

In the video, Kanye West, 44, is seen vehemently yelling at a group of seemingly close peers-which was a first-time experience for Chance. It ultimately made him re-evaluate their friendship.

While he does acknowledge the fact that the video was only a small clip of a much larger moment, Chance The Rapper said,

"It made me evaluate my friendship with him, for sure....I had never been so close to him going through an episode. I've talked to him after he's went through stuff before....this is somebody that I really like love and talk to....it did just make me realize, I have a whole life in Chicago. I have my own stuff I gotta deal with."

Chance released his last album "The Big Day" in 2019.
