Travis Scott Lands Las Vegas Nightclub Residency

It appears things are starting to look up for Travis Scott despite the Astroworld disaster!

On Monday (Aug.1), Travis Scott, 31, revealed that he has an upcoming Las Vegas nightclub residency set for next month. According to reports, the residency will be a string of seven shows total - under the banner "Road to Utopia"- that will take place at the Zouk Nightclub at Resorts World starting on Sept. 17!

In a statement, Resorts World described "Road to Utopia" as a

"mind-bending, first-of-its-kind nightclub residency experience,"

and hinted at Travis Scott previewing upcoming tracks. Reportedly, the Zouk Group venue also promises to make use of its high-tech venue features, including an LED lighting system dubbed the "Mothership" and a shifting ceiling, to elevate Scott's performance.

Ronn Nicolli- chief marketing officer of Resorts World Las Vegas had this to say about Travis Scott:

"From his music and fashion to unprecedented brand collaborations, Travis Scott is a one-of-a-kind, multi-talented artist. His residency will bring a new level of energy to Resorts World Las Vegas and add to the property's diverse list of entertainment and nightlife offerings."

Andrew Li, CEO of Zouk Group also gushed over the "Sicko Mode" rapper. Li said:

"Travis Scott was a seamless fit for the Zouk Nightclub roster. His electric performances will pair perfectly with our immersive atmosphere, bringing our guests an unmatched show unlike anything else they can find in Las Vegas. We can't wait to kick off his residency and continue to amplify our talent lineup."

As previously reported, On Nov. 5, 2021, Travis Scott held his annual Astroworld festival in his hometown of Houston, TX. Thousands of attendees reportedly rushed the venue, resulting in a fatal crowd surge. Ten people died-including a 9-year-old boy who succumbed to vital organ failure, among other serious injuries. Hundreds more were injured and traumatized by the horrific scenes they witnessed. Travis was accused of ignoring cries from the audience to stop the show. Many have also highlighted his history of inciting violence and chaos at his concerts.

Travis Scott is still currently facing a slate of multimillion-dollar lawsuits over the tragedies that occurred in November 2021 during his headlining set at Astroworld. The "Goosebumps" rapper has also slowly been making strides towards his comeback - performing at smaller scale events and quietly releasing new music.

In June, it was reported that  Travis Scott will return to the stage Labor Day Weekend to perform at Day N Vegas- a hip-hop festival happening Sept. 2-4-nearly 10 months after the infamous 2021 Astroworld music festival in Houston. In May, Scott performed at the Billboard Music Awards making it his first televised appearance since Astroworld.
