A Fan Threw A Shoe At Jennifer Hudson During A Recent Concert

As every artist knows, when you are performing live, you have to be prepared for anything. This was the case Friday (September 29) night during a Jennifer Hudson concert.

While the current "The Voice
" judge was singing her version of "And I Am Telling You I''m Not Going," a fan decided to throw the shoe at her in a moment that stopped the singer in her tracks.

One thing fans should know is the shoe throwing was not an attack or even an insult. The shoe-throwing was a compliment because Ms. Hudson was doing so well.
In fact, it was Hudson herself that started the trend.

During an airing of "The Voice" on Tuesday (September 26), Hudson turned her chair around during a performance by contestant Chris Weaver. As Weaver continued singing, Hudson grabbed fellow judge Miley Cyrus'' shoe and threw it towards the stage. Hudson later explained that it was a compliment.

"Where I come from, that's a compliment," Hudson explained on the show. "And we know at times when you sing like that, you better be prepared to what? Duck."

At the concert, Hudson took the shoe throwing in stride.
"I told my crew, I said Lord people [are] going to start throwing shoes at me after @nbcthevoice and yall that just what happened tonight! I got my first shoe thrown at me tonight!" The singer added that she "could barely finish my song after this guy got done!"

Hudson did go on to finish the song by shaking hands with members of the audience and eventually singing offstage, according to a video she shared on Instagram.
