At the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame's 2021 Enshrinement, which took place Saturday night on the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11th attacks, a graphic of the New York skyline kept a vigil, start to finish, over the proceedings.Maybe that's why so many of the acceptance speeches seemed just a little more humble, expressing a bit more gratitude, with more than a few references to - as newly inducted Bobby Dandridge put it - "the God of my understanding."
Former Bulls wing Toni Kukoc thanked presenter Michael Jordan and fellow Hall of Fame teammate Scottie Pippen for "kicking my butt" in the 1992 Dream Team Olympics in Barcelona, as well as in Chicago's practices, to make Kukoc work harder.
