
Juwan Howard led Michigan to a Big Ten title, a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and an Elite Eight appearance. For those reasons and more, he was named the Division I men's basketball Coach of the Year by the Associated Press on Thursday. Michigan finished 23-5 this season, winning the Big Ten regular-season championship along the way and earning the program's first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament since 1993. Michigan's season ended on Tuesday, one game short of the Final Four, with a loss to 11 seed.
