"Pose" Executive Producer Janet Mock Gives Fiery Speech About The Industry, Unequal Pay, Infidelity & More: 'F*ck Hollywood'
"Pose" executive producer and director Janet Mock is making headlines after giving a fiery fifteen minute speech during the FX dramas' season 3 premiere event on Thursday (Apr.29) night. Mock left attendees stunned as she reportedly called out Hollywood, spoke about unfair pay and even questioned series co-creator Ryan Murphy. Early on in her speech, Mock questioned the pay she received while working on the popular FX series, "Pose", seemingly demanding more money and perks equal to other TV executives. She asked out loud,
"Why am I making $40,000 an episode? Huh? I am angry! "
"F*ck Hollywood ... Does this make you uncomfortable? It should. It should make you f*cking shake in your motherf**king boots. This is speaking truth. This is what 'Pose' is."
Janet Mock also reportedly called out the quality of work from male writers in the show's first season, reminding Ryan Murphy that he brought her and fellow female writers onto the show "to help." Mock asked Murphy,
"Who brought the girls in?"
"I did. I wanted the girls to be there."
Mock also touched on her personal life and shared some private details about her relationship with series star Angel Bismark Curiel who plays Lil Papi on the show. According to reports, Mock asked him to stand up in the room.
"Stand up ... right now!.. Let me tell you something about love. Today, I was gonna let [Angel] go. I was gonna let you go, right, but what did I do? I f*ked someone on the crew, right?"
"Angel, Angel. I'm not losing you. You hear me? You are f*king important to me. I don't want to live in a house alone. I want you. You motherf*cker. Right there. That's who I want. I'm getting what's mine."

Janet Mock also apologized to composer, and series writer and producer, Our Lady J admitting she diminished the writer in efforts to "make myself bigger."
"I f*ked up, y'all. I forgot who the f*k I was. They want me to come up here and pretend. I don't need Hollywood, honey. You know why? Cuz I'm f*king free."
According to the reports, the speech was well-received by the cast members in attendance, including Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore and the show's lead, MJ Rodriguez.
Mock was scheduled to promote the show on "Good Morning America" on Friday (Apr.30) but reportedly, the appearance was canceled after she gave her speech. Thursday's event marked the series last premiere for the acclaimed period drama, which will return for its seven-episode final season this Sunday (May 2). "Pose" is an American drama television series about New York City's African-American and Latino LGBTQ and gender-nonconforming drag ball culture scene in the 1980s and early 1990s. Featured characters are dancers and models who compete for trophies and recognition in this underground culture, and who support one another in a network of chosen families known as Houses.
