Ask Five on Black Vibes: D.I.V.

1. What plans does D.I.V. have for this summer?


I am focused on releasing new videos online, performing at various spots in the city, I recently just did Webster Hall on the July 9th. I am gearing up to release a new video which I have been preparing for a while and I am very proud of. The video is for the song "U C Me" with Hop Da Great and Nuf Sed off The Vision's The Foundation mixtape with The Legendary Ron G. I also just released Wake N Bake from the same project and so far have been getting a great response. I am just working right now and focusing on making the right moves to put me and my team in the right places. Also on July 7th my team Giant G FamMilli is going to be holding the 1st annual Giant G cookout in the Bronx.




2. What new projects are you working on?


Right now i am working on the So O.D.(My Group with Nuf Sed) mixtape OD Vol 2 (#OD2). We have been working with Joey C and are 20 tracks into the recording process. Also I have a large catalog of music on my own and am planning to release another mixtape soon.




3. What other artists are you feeling right now?


I am really enjoying the battle scene right now... its great entertainment. Like boxing for hip hop heads, and I find it real dope... I also appreciate artists like DMX and Prodigy who have been re-emerged and been droppin some fire lately. The LOX as always, Mysonne is making some dope music and Papoose is always impressive to me. I really don't listen to a lot of other artists because I am so focused on my own work, and really just playing a lot of oldies in the whip. Helps me zone out, and relax. It also inspires songs and samples.





4. Hands down "Puff Pass" is the weed smoking anthem of 2012, but what are some of your favorite weed smoking songs not recorded by you?


I appreciate that... thank you. Some of my favorites are Styles P - I Get High and Blow Your Mind, Dr Dre's Next Episode, Bob Marley - Kaya, Nas - Blunt Ashes, Redman and Method Man - How High, and A Yo





5. Between you, Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg..... who is the bigger pothead?

lol, Snoop is by far the godfather of this shit and has been for years, hands down. Respect where respect is due.
