Archangel - VI

Archangel - VI

Archangel grew up fast in Memphis, Tennessee where his childhood wasn't really a childhood so to speak. He would bounce around from house to house and was even forced to move out of state so that his father couldn't see him. From breakdowns in school because he missed his dad to angry feelings toward his father, young he would turn all of his negative anger into positive energy by becoming a top athlete in track, basketball and football and joining the Marines later on. And being that he was the strong, silent and independent type at such an early age, he would also invest a lot of his time into writing poems and reading the business & money sections of the newspaper instead of the comics. Even though it wasn't all fun & games for him back in the day, he didn't let it stop him from living life to its fullest. With a sharp & driven mind in place and bright future in the cards, young he had his eye on the prize and failure was not an option.  Music was the real saving grace & savior for Archangel where he said himself: "Music after 15 has been my escape from most pains in my life". Hanging out with his childhood friend Christopher Forest aka K-le in his grandmother's living room and recording music on a 4-track was where the magic happened and where it all started for him. Music opened up new & exciting doors for Brown where he could spread his wings and become Archangel for all to see and hear. Archangel would become Tarrance's new alter ego but more so it was his newfound image and presence that he would come to fully embody. Tarrance aka Archangel owes a lot to his former neighborhood colleague Jason Riddle "Chino" who is the one person that kept pushing Tarrance to do music in the first place. After "Chino" read one of his poems, he was on him like white on rice to attack the mic and spill some rhymes. Archangel took his advice and decided to give it a shot at the age of 15 but you're already aware that Tarrance Brown grew up fast and focused so you have to know that it wasn't going to be a sloppy approach by any means. Far from it as Archangel would first listen to artists & labels like Rakim, 3-6 Mafia of Memphis, Indo G of Memphis, T- Rock and No Limit Records to get a better and more in depth understanding of the art of delivery. Archangel was finally ready to fly high at 15 where it would start at school and lead to a friend named Bledsoe taking him to a studio after class and the rest is history

Priceless Scott

Priceless Scott

It takes roughly two billion years for a lump of coal to undergo the necessary chemical changes to transform into a diamond. Forged in lava fires of thousand-degree heat and pressed under the weight of the earth's crust, these crystalline karats are created from the most extreme conditions of the planet. Much like how Mother Nature takes the most intense events to create some of our most-cherished possessions, sometimes difficulties in life can construct something just as irreplaceable. And her name is Priceless Scott. Just like that treasured stone that shines and sparkles, this glittering musical jewel is just as amazing! Growing up, Priceless Scott was always in love with music. Her mother and aunts often played Biggie, Tupac, Mary J Blige other 90s hip-hop classics. Riding in the car, she was the kid who knew every word to every song that came on the radio. Music didn't become a priority in her life until a few years after high school graduation. Always a fan of music, she became distraught about the lack of relatable music on the radio. So instead of complaining about the state of music, she decided to do something about it. Now, as one of the most rapidly rising stars out of Central Florida, her talents have been glowing for some time now with six widely popular mixtapes. She is shining even brighter with the recent release of EP Pressure Makes Diamonds and sizzling new single "Pull Up.

THE LEGENDARY SMOOTH B

THE LEGENDARY SMOOTH B

When reflecting on the origins of hip hop, most break it down into three areas or three main questions.  Who were the first? Who had the most impact? Who from then is relevant now?  There aren't too many names that started in the 80's that can get the ears of today's youth.  Yet there is one name that is beginning to buzz again in the streets and soon on the radio.  Who?  The Legendary "Smooth B" that's who! Like the origin of hip hop, Smooth B is a Bronx native who grew up with the art form and was inspired with the lifestyle and culture because he was part of it before he even decided to become an active member of the movement.  The former member of the iconic hip hop duo Nice & Smooth has decided to re-emerge on the scene because his love for the art is also attached to his first love; his family.  The next generation including his son kept on coming to him for him to hear their music and ask for input.  The more he heard; the more he realized that music is him and his love. The new generation would listen to some of his songs that they never heard that were 10-15 years old, and told him they were;" lit!"  On top of that, every time he performed his fans and friends would ask him when he was going to come out with a solo album.  Yet, if you ask Smooth B what's great about coming out with music now, he will tell you that his love for music is shared with those he loves; making it even sweeter and also more inspirational. CONTINUED HERE
