Alex Palou wins at IMS Road Course for 3rd year in a row, picks up 4th win of 2025
INDIANAPOLIS - An already enormous lead in the NTT IndyCar Series points standings just got bigger. Alex Palou's dominant start to 2025 continued with his fourth win of the year coming at the Sonsio Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's road course on Saturday.
"I owe everything to the team, Chip Ganassi Racing, my teammates, everybody who is working behind the scenes to make me look so fast on track," Palou said. "It's amazing. It's unbelievable."
Once Palou made a move to pass Graham Rahal during Lap 58, the rest was history. A quick final pit stop helped build an even bigger cushion for the No. 10 car. Palou won Saturday's race by more than five seconds.
Pato O'Ward and Will Power joined Palou on the podium, but neither of them have figured out how to beat the DHL Honda.
"We need to do something to stop this 10 car," O'Ward said. "These guys are really, really on a roll. I don't think I've seen anything like it, especially in IndyCar."
Scott McLaughlin and Scott Dixon rounded out the top five at the IMS Road Course on Saturday. The work is just beginning, though, with the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 on the horizon.
"Hopefully, we get to stay (at the victory podium) again in a couple of weeks for the biggest race of the year," Palou said.
The first day of qualifying is on May 17, and the Indianapolis 500 is on May 25. Every race of this year's IndyCar season will be televised on FOX59.
