Ed Carpenter Racing moving headquarters to Westfield's Grand Park Sports Campus

WESTFIELD, Ind. - Ed Carpenter Racing will move its headquarters to Westfield's Grand Park Sports Campus.
The city of Westfield and the racing team made the announcement on Tuesday. The move will make Ed Carpenter Racing (ECR) the only NTT IndyCar Series team headquartered in Hamilton County. The team is currently located on Indy's northwest side.
This is the first major announcement of the Grand Park District Master Plan, a blueprint for expanding the existing sports campus. Groundbreaking is expected in early 2026 with the project slated for completion in early 2027.
ECR's state-of-the-art, 76,000-square-foot headquarters will go just south of the Grand Park Events Center on the west side of Grand Park Boulevard. The facility will become the racing team's central hub for racing operations and engineering development.
It will include a public viewing area, a retail store and an on-site café. As part of the project, a city-funded parking garage will be constructed at Grand Park to provide additional access and convenience.
ECR includes two drivers, Alexander Rossi and Christian Rasmussen. Ed Carpenter, a longtime driver who is part of the ownership team, climbs behind the wheel for the Indianapolis 500 in May.
"We are very excited about this project and how it will impact the growth of ECR into the future," Carpenter said. "The opportunity to build a world-class facility within Grand Park was something we could not pass up."
The team's co-owners are Ted Gelov, Tony George and Stuart Reed. Gelov called the new headquarters a "defining moment" for ECR.
"This new headquarters will not only serve as the foundation for our racing operations and technical development, but also as a place where fans can truly connect with our team, our partners and the sport of IndyCar," said Gelov, co-owner of ECR and CEO of Heartland Food Products Group, which is headquartered in Hamilton County.
"As a long-time Hamilton County resident and business owner, I'm proud to invest in this community and help bring a new level of energy, innovation and opportunity to Westfield," he said.
"Attracting a professional sports team like ECR further solidifies Grand Park as a premier destination for sports and innovation. We are excited to welcome ECR to our community," said Westfield Mayor Scott Willis.
Westfield Economic Development Director Jenell Fairman said ECR "perfectly complements" the city's vision for Grand Park.
"Exposing amateur and youth sports competitors and leaders to a professional racing organization will be a catalyst for sports technology advancement in the Grand Park District," Fairman said.
