IMPD: Indianapolis man charged after triple shooting on near southeast side
INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a shooting that left three people injured on the near southeast side of Indianapolis last month.
According to court documents filed on Monday in Marion County, 27-year-old Robert Christian was charged with:
- One count of aggravated battery - results in loss or impairment of a bodily function, a Level 3 felony
- Two counts of battery by means of a deadly weapon, each a Level 5 felony
- One count of residential entry, a Level 6 felony
On the evening of Sept. 25, officers responded to a home in the 1900 block of East Minnesota Street on a report of a shooting. When officers responded, they located two individuals with gunshot wounds.
According to previous reports, the two were taken to a local hospital in stable condition. While at the scene, officers learned that a third person who was reportedly shot in the incident was taken to another hospital and was in stable condition.
At the time, IMPD officers said that there was a reported disturbance that occurred in the home before the shooting.
IMPD said that witnesses provided detectives with "key information" that helped identify Christian as the suspected shooter in the case. A warrant was issued for Christian on Monday, and he was taken into custody in Hendricks County less than 48 hours later.
