Neil Diamond Surprises Hugh Jackman With Signed Guitar Following Premiere Of 'Song Sung Blue'

Neil Diamond presented Hugh Jackman with a personalized guitar to celebrate the actor's starring role in the new film, Song Sung Blue. The 57-year-old Jackman plays Mike Sardina, part of a Neil Diamond tribute duo called Lightning and Thunder whose story is featured in the movie, which hit theaters on Christmas day. Jackman shared a video on Instagram capturing his reaction to receiving the guitar, calling it "one of the most awesome gifts I've ever received" and saying he will "cherish [it] forever." The guitar bears Diamond's inscription: "Hugh, Keep rockin'! Your friend, Neil Diamond." The 84-year-old singer attended a screening of the film and reportedly enjoyed it so much he asked to watch it again immediately. Director Craig Brewer said Diamond "was tapping his foot" and "would applaud after each music number" during the viewing. The film co-stars Kate Hudson and marks the first time Diamond has given his complete catalog to a movie production.
