Elton John is celebrating a major personal milestone 36 years of sobriety.

The "Rocketman" legend marked the occasion on Instagram by sharing a photo of himself enjoying his alcohol-free sparkling wine, Elton John Zero Blanc de Blancs, while celebrating life with a smile.

"36 years sober today," Elton wrote. "Raising a 0% glass to life. Grateful for every single day."

The 79-year-old singer has been open about his struggles with drugs and alcohol during the late 1970s and 1980s, and he has remained sober since 1990.

Fans and celebrity friends flooded the comments with support, celebrating Elton's journey and his continued impact on music and beyond.

Elton John and his husband David Furnish launched Elton John Zero earlier this year as a way to create an alcohol-free option that still feels like a celebration.

Although he retired from touring, Elton is set to return to the stage for two special performances in Mexico City this October.
