Cardi B found that the best way to wish everyone a happy Cinco de Mayo would be to show off her impressive dancing skills. Moreover, she uploaded a clip to Twitter of her busting some moves to a live rendition of "La Chona" by Danny Felix, popping her belly out and hopping along. It's not quite the fantastic fluidity that one expects from a track like that, but we'll take what we can get. Regardless, the recent Met Gala show-stopper faced a lot of people online claiming that she is Mexican, or at least assuming her heritage. After having some fun with people's confusion online, she tweeted out a joke about her presumed nationality.

"We'll never beat the Mexican allegations omg," one fan wrote on the social media platform. Then, Cardi B quote-tweeted a cheeky response. "I mean they claim I'm Mexican... I might as well embrace my new nationality lol." However, the Bronx rapper then deleted her post for unknown reasons, though it's possibly due to people bashing the statement for its potential insensitivity. After all, Cardi faced a lot of criticism in the past for identifying as a Black woman when many others would say otherwise. For the record, she is of Dominican and Trinidadian descent with African and Spanish roots.

No matter your view on her nationality, at the end of the day, it was just a fun video that she might have put her foot in her mouth over. Still, it must take a toll on her if other events like the Met Gala, for example, already give her anxiety. "Every single time that I got to the Met, it's fun of course," Cardi B said in a behind-the-scenes clip from the occasion. "After my first time going to the Met, I always get anxiety. And the anxieties just grow and grow and grow. Maybe because my looks are so spectacular that people just expect every year to be more amazing than the last. And it's so hard because imagine competing with myself. That is sickening."
