Lil Kim's Brooklyn Nets Biggie Tribute Ripped Apart On Social Media
Lil Kim took over halftime at Barclays Center on November 11 with a high-energy performance honoring The Notorious B.I.G., as the Brooklyn Nets launched their first-ever "Biggie Night" and introduced their new "Brooklyn Camo" uniforms inspired by the late rap icon.
Wearing a bold "REALLY HER" tee, the Bed-Stuy native hit the court backed by the Nets dance team and delivered her verse from "Notorious B.I.G.," igniting cheers from the sold-out crowd. The tribute was part of a night dedicated to celebrating Biggie's impact on Hip-Hop and Brooklyn culture.
"It's Biggie Night, so you already know the vibes. Every time we rep the legend, it's all good, babyyy bae baeee," Kim said ahead of the event. "Brooklyn, we ouuutssiiideee... Get ready for a fun-filled night! Let's make it one for the books."
The Nets' new City Edition jerseys, dubbed "Brooklyn Camo," pay homage to Biggie's signature style, pulling visual cues from his iconic Coogi sweaters and the borough's streetwear roots. Each uniform features a "Bed-Stuy" patch, a nod to the neighborhood that raised both Biggie and Kim.
The event wasn't just about fashion. The team partnered with the Biggie Smalls estate to produce a full evening of tributes, including Biggie bobblehead giveaways and in-game visuals celebrating his legacy. The collaboration is part of a broader effort to keep Biggie's influence alive throughout the NBA season.
But the warm reception didn't extend to Lil Kim online. People were aghast by her performance, specifically her poor lip synching and apparent weight gain impeding her dance movements. Comments ranged from "imagine buying a ticket to see her and this is how she preformed! I was so disappointed! No rapping or nothing" to "the weight is getting out of control Kim."
Others included, "Love her, but this is one of the worst lip syncs I have ever seen," "wtf is that build" and "Love Kim.. but this was messier than a toddler with a bowl of Apple sauce."

Lil Kim's connection to Biggie began when she was a teenager and he helped launch her career by bringing her into Junior M.A.F.I.A. Their bond-both personal and professional-became one of Hip-Hop's most iconic partnerships, making her tribute especially meaningful.
The halftime show also drew Lil Cease, Jadakiss and Biggie's son CJ Wallace, who were all in attendance for the emotional celebration. Their presence added a generational layer to the tribute, reminding the crowd of Biggie's lasting influence on rap culture.
The Nets plan to wear the "Brooklyn Camo" jerseys throughout the season, continuing their tribute to Biggie with each game. The team said the initiative reflects their commitment to "Spread Love The Brooklyn Way," echoing one of Biggie's most famous lyrics.
