The Truth is.. I was broken. Stumbling and falling before I even met BoyFriend#5. I was single but in situationships with three different women at the same time right before I met him. So lost in my identity because I really wasn't happy with who I was. I wanted happiness so bad that I settled for someone who made me smile and laugh. I didn't know that he was stumbling and falling too. He hid it very well just like I hid mines. Before I knew it my smiles and laughter turned into years of daily tears and pain. His drinking produced narcissistic behaviors that led to verbal abuse, and neglect.

It had gotten so bad that in his drunkenness he would accuse me of things like wanting to sleep with his male family members in front of everyone at his family functions. I used to be so embarrassed and hurt. Sometimes he would talk down to me so bad.. that all I could do was cry. I couldn't believe that he would treat me that way and think those things about me.

So instead of me leaving the toxic relationship I did everything I could to get him to see that I was genuine. Before I knew it.. I became who he wanted me to be and no longer knew who I was. I normalized and just adapted to the toxicity. It became a part of me. I literally trapped myself inside of thee worst relationship that I have ever been in. Then one day in premarital counseling I called it quits.

God said It was time I accepted the fact that it was my brokenness that got me into the relationship in the first place. It wasn't about BoyFriend#5 it was about V. Aka me! He said it was time to stop stumbling because I was causing "MYSELF" to fall!
