Happy Birthday to one of the truly great soul artists of all time, Gladys Knight

Celebrates her 80th birthday today. Nothing can be said that hasn't already been written about her, except perhaps to remind ourselves that she's had eleven number-one R&B singles & six number-one R&B albums. She's won seven Grammy Awards (four as a solo artist and three with the Pips) & is an inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & Vocal Group Hall of Fame along with The Pips. Two of her songs ("I Heard It Through the Grapevine" and "Midnight Train to Georgia") were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame for "historical, artistic and significant" value.... Read more
