ABC Issues Apology After Accidentally Using Migos Member Quavo's Photo During Remembrance Tribute To Takeoff
ABC is not America's favorite network right now, and Takeoff fans aren't hesitating to let them know that.
Recently, the famous broadcasting company unveiled the official compilation for their 'The Year: 2022' tribute, which recognized the illustrious lives of icons we've lost over the past year.
The eight-minute video featured Coolio, Irene Cara, Stephen "tWitch" Boss, Sidney Poitier, and (supposedly) Migos rapper Takeoff, among others. However, it quickly went viral-and not so much in a good way-when viewers realized that an image of fellow member Quavo flashed across the screen instead of his late groupmate/nephew, Takeoff.
When speaking of the remembrance visual, an angered Twitter user wrote,
"ABC didn't have anyone that knew which member of The Migos was Takeoff and which was Quavo? SMH."
Following the backlash, ABC's social media team eventually took to their platform and addressed the controversial matter, stating that it was an "unfortunate error." The initial reel has since been deleted and upgraded to the corrected version.
As you may know, in November, 28-year-old Takeoff was fatally shot at a bowling alley in Houston, Texas. Reportedly, the shooting was a result of a dice game gone wrong. Earlier this month, a man by the name of Patrick Xavier Clark was arrested as an alleged suspect in Takeoff's murder case.

The Georgia-born lyricist was one-third of the trap-music trio Migos, who rose to prominence with chart-topping hits such as "Bad and Boujee," "Stir Fry," and "Walk It Talk It."
May Takeoff continue to rest peacefully.
