Def Leppard is among the artists featured on the new soundtrack for the re-themed Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida.
The ride, which closed earlier this year, is scheduled to reopen May 26 as Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. On April 13, Disney Parks teased the updated soundtrack by revealing a cover of Blur's "Song 2," performed by The Electric Mayhem, the fictional Muppets band.
The full soundtrack, announced Friday, includes rock songs spanning the 1960s and 1980s, as well as other eras. All tracks are performed by The Electric Mayhem, with several special guests.
In addition to "Song 2," the soundtrack features Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild" with Camilla the Chicken; Ohio Players' "Love Rollercoaster" with Jennifer Hudson and Questlove; "Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)" with Def Leppard; and Katrina and the Waves' "Walking on Sunshine" with Kelly Clarkson.
Def Leppard promoted their involvement with the soundtrack on social media, sharing a video featuring vocalist Joe Elliott and guitarist Phil Collen in conversation with Lips from The Muppets.
"We would love to play with The Electric Mayhem," Collen said in the video.
"What did we just agree to?" Elliott replied.
Aerosmith previously headlined the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, which opened in July 1999. The original version featured a pre-recorded video of the band and a storyline in which guests were invited backstage to an Aerosmith concert. The ride was designed to simulate a limousine racing to the venue as Aerosmith songs played throughout the experience.
Members of Aerosmith occasionally visited the park to experience the ride. It remains to be seen whether Def Leppard will make similar appearances following the relaunch.
