Welcome to Island Coils at Rapunzel's Hair Studio in Fort Walton Beach, FL, a space created from my love for hair, beauty, creativity, and healthy hair care.

I'm Aja Cobbs, I am an artist! I am a hairstylist with more than 20 years of experience working with natural hair. Over the years, I've developed a passion for creating beautiful braided and protective styles while making sure the health and integrity of my clients' natural hair remains a priority.

I believe that beautiful hair should also be healthy hair. When you sit in my chair, I want you to feel confident knowing that I'm not only focused on how your style looks when you leave. I care about how your hair is cared for underneath the style as well.

At Island Coils, I take an intentional approach to braiding and natural hair care. I consider the condition of your hair and scalp, use techniques designed to minimize unnecessary tension, and choose products thoughtfully. Many of the products I use contain natural ingredients, because I believe in being mindful of what we put on our hair and scalp.

For me, hairstyling is about more than braids. It's an opportunity to help people feel beautiful, confident, and cared for.
