Ex-MAGA Joe Walsh Claims "Cover-Up" Around Trump's Cognition

It's nearly six months into the second term of President Donald Trump, and with that comes a growing number of instances where people have been questioning his mental acuity. One of them, former Republican rep. Joe Walsh, is declaring that there is a cover-up of his mental decline by the White House.

In a Substack newsletter entitled "He Doesn't Know What TF He is Doing," the former Illinois Republican-turned-Democrat blasted Trump, likening him to an elder who shouldn't be allowed to drive anymore. "Could someone right now write a book about Trump's cognitive decline and how the people around him know about it but are covering it up? Could someone please write that book right now, instead of waiting four years? Need sources? Just take a look at his Truth Social feed. It's all over the place," Walsh writes.

He added, "One minute he's talking about regime change and 'MIGA,' next he's congratulating everyone on a ceasefire no one else knew anything about, now he's tweeting out a 'Bomb Iran' video. And let's not forget that he's taken to 'signing' his social media posts. Paging Jake Tapper." Walsh's referencing the CNN reporter highlighted how Tapper's most recent book went after former President Joe Biden, alleging that he exhibited a decline in his mental capabilities.

During his term, Trump has done several things that have left the American public perplexed including vowing to reopen Alcatraz, pledging to enact tariffs of 100% on Hollywood studios over "national security concerns." And then there are the more serious moments, such as his cursing on camera over Israel and Iran apparently violating a ceasefire in a conflict he first announced on his Truth Social account, and his admitting to NBC reporter and Meet The Press host Kristin Welker that he didn't know if it was mandatory for a president to follow the Constitution. "I don't know. I'm not, I'm, not a lawyer," he said in the interview with Welker.
