Jim Jones Claims Nas Has Him To Thank For Being Viral In 2025

Not only does Jim Jones believe that Nas is aware of this widely one-sided beef, the Dipset member honestly believes that being compared to "One Mic" rapper has helped him go "viral."

Last week, Capo found himself in the middle of a cultural relevance campaign after a young rapper claimed that for his generation, Jones was much more popular than Nas.  During an appearance on the "Joe and Jada podcast" Jones was asked about the comparison to  Queensbridge MC. Jones initially praised Nas, even calling himself a "superior" Nas fan when he was a boy, but he added that he has done more to stay relevant among the youth. Jones told folks if they didn't believe him to "check his track record" on Billboard.

We checked. Jim Jones, without Dipset or Byrdgang, has two songs, "We Fly High" and "Pop Champagne"on the Billboard Hot 100, one of which made the Top 10. Nas has 27 songs on the Hot 100 and two Top 10 bangers.

On a recent episode of the podcast "BagFuel," Jones was asked about the comparison to Ns and he explained his position on record sales not being the only criteria to judge a rapper's popularity.

"There's a lot of people that sold more records than me that are also not around anymore," he said. "Diamond, five-time platinum, four-time platinum, gold artist-I've seen it since 1997. Gone. I'm still here."

Jones noted that it didn't matter if people don't believe what he's saying, he's still relevant in 2025 and other rappers aren't. Nas, who has largely been considered a Hip-Hop deity since the release of his classic "Illmatic," dropped "Magic 3," the last in a series of projects by the rapper and producer Hit-Boy, in 2023.

But Jones believes that he's the reason Nas has become a topic for conversation in 2025.

"What I did for Nas probably never been done for him in his life. He's never been that viral at all. Ever," Jones said. "He's never been talked about like this ever in his life."

Jones continued: "And I don't want to talk about other people's career but let's just get to the

semantics of it,"

The rapper noted that he doesn't want to "have a conversation" with Nas.

And it's still unclear whether Nas even knows if any of this is going on.
