SZA Teams Up With Jon & Vinny's To Deliver Free Meals To SNAP Recipients In Los Angeles

SZA and Los Angeles eatery Jon & Vinny's have joined forces to hand out 1,400 complimentary meals to local families relying on SNAP benefits, offering relief as federal assistance programs face uncertainty during potential government shutdowns.

The seven-day initiative, which runs from November 11 through November 17, will provide 100 takeout dinners for two each day at Jon & Vinny's Slauson Avenue location.




The meals are available to community members who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, with up to four meals allowed per household. Pickup times will be scheduled between 3 P.M. and 5 P.M. each day.




The collaboration was announced in a joint Instagram post on Monday, November 10, with both SZA and Jon & Vinny's sharing the same message:




"Yall know how much I love Jon and Vinny's!! But it ain't no fun if the Homies can't have none !!"




The post continued, "Last week @sza reached out to us with an idea and now, with her help, it's a reality. Over the next 7 days we are partnering with her NOT Charity to provide 1400 free meals (100 dinners for 2 per day) for Los Angeles community members who receive SNAP."

The effort comes at a time when millions of Americans face food insecurity due to political gridlock in Washington.




SNAP supports approximately 40 to 42 million low-income Americans monthly, distributed to over 22 million households nationwide.​




The program deployed about $8 billion monthly before the shutdown; without federal appropriations, benefits were paused or drastically reduced for November 2025.








SZA's NOT Charity, which she launched to support underserved communities, is leading the charge in this partnership.




The meals are designed to provide not just nourishment but comfort, especially for families navigating economic hardship in a city where the cost of living continues to climb.
