17-year-old has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of Jordany Aracena, a fellow 17-year-old and up-and-coming drill rapper from the Bronx, police said Tuesday.

The shooting happened on September 25 in the Mott Haven neighborhood. Investigators believe Aracena may have been targeted because of lyrics in his drill music, which often includes references to violence and street life.

That evening, around 6:15 p.m., Aracena was on Beekman Avenue near East 141st Street when five masked individuals dressed in black opened fire. He was hit in the chest and arm. The shooters ran off, and Aracena was rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where he later died. The suspect's name has not been made public because he is a minor.

He is facing murder charges. Police are still looking for the others who were involved in the shooting. After the killing, Aracena's friend and neighbor, Eric Scott, 21, told *The Daily News* that the teen may have exaggerated his image in his music. "He'd be lying in his raps about what he did and was going to do, like lots of dudes," Scott said. "It's a shame."

The case sheds light on how tensions sparked by music can spill over into real-life violence. Police are continuing their investigation to track down the rest of the suspects.
