Freedom of the Airwaves
Radio broadcasting began in the early '20s, but it wasn't until the introduction of the transistor radio in 1954 that radio became available in mobile situations. Internet radio is in much the same place. Until the 21st century, the only way to obtain radio broadcasts over the Internet was through your PC. That has since changed as wireless connectivity feeds Internet broadcasts to car radios, PDA's and cell phones. This generation of wireless devices will greatly expand the reach and convenience of Internet radio.Uses and Advantages
Traditional radio station broadcasts are limited by two factors:Internet radio has no geographic limitations, so a broadcaster in Atlanta can be heard in the United Kingdom on the Internet. The potential for Internet radio is as vast as cyberspace itself. In comparison to traditional radio, Internet radio is not limited to audio. An Internet radio broadcast can be accompanied by tweets, blogs, videos, photos or graphics, text and links, as well as interactivity, such as message boards and chat rooms. This advancement allows a listener to do more than listen. In the example at the beginning of this article, a listener who hears an ad for a computer printer ordered that printer through a link on the Internet radio broadcast Web site. The relationship between advertisers and consumers becomes more interactive and intimate on Internet radio broadcasts. This expanded media capability could also be used in other ways. For example, with Internet radio, you could conduct training or education and provide links to documents and payment options. You could also have interactivity with the trainer or educator and other information on the Internet radio broadcast site.Internet radio programming offers a wide spectrum of broadcast genres, particularly in music. Broadcast radio is increasingly controlled by smaller numbers of media conglomerates. In some ways, this has led to more mainstreaming of the programming on broadcast radio, as stations often try to reach the largest possible audience in order to charge the highest possible rates to advertisers. Internet radio, on the other hand, offers the opportunity to expand the types of available programming. Not to mention The cost of getting "on the air" is less on an Internet Station.
Questions To Ask:
Is station digitally tracked?
Is the station royalties paid?
What is stations demographic reach?
How many listeners does the station have?
How many ways can listeners tune in?
BE AWARE OF SCAMS!!! STATION LISTENER NUMBERS AND DEMOGRAPHICS SHOULD ALWAYS BE PRESENTED TO CLIENTS UPON DOING BUSINESS.

Internet comedian Shiggy, the mind behind the Do The Shiggy viral craze that helped propel Drake's "In My Feelings" to the top of Billboard's Hot 100, has been rumored to be getting financially compensated for his help in the song's success. In an Instagram video, Shiggy played off the speculation and pressed Drizzy about the status of the alleged $250,000 payment."I heard you gave me $250K, I wanna know where my check is at bro," Shiggy says to Drake in the video.Drake responds, "When I called Universal [Records], they said it's international from Canada to New York ... it's on the way."When asked again to provide a more specific date, the OVO star further claimed the payment was made via wire transfer, so it could take anywhere from 7-10 days. While Drake plays up the awkwardness and Shiggy appears annoyed during the exchange, it should be taken with a grain of salt. Both men are known for their acting ability. The two were able to meet in person on July 17, as seen in a video shared by DJ Akademiks. Drake is heard exclaiming, "Man got me a No. 1 record today!

Death is one of the most difficult things to comprehend. While we all know it's inevitable, when it happens to somebody we know or respect, our worlds fall apart. The same can be said when one of our favorite artists understand tragic fates. When XXXTentacion passed away last month, the hearts of the hip-hop community sank. The same can be said for Lil Peep and Tupac & Biggie before them. While some have been equating X and Peep's legacies to Pac and Big's, The Game chose to avoid that route, posting an edited photo of Peep, Tupac and XXXTentacion embracing but noting that he is not trying to make a divisive message through it.
In the image, which was shared by a fan who likely crafted it using Photoshop, XXX wears his iconic hairstyle and looks down at his phone while Peep prepares a bottle of lean. We're sure other photos of the late Gus were available to be used but, for some reason, the creator of the image decided to portray him in this light. Pac stands between the two, embracing both of them with his arms around each artist, looking off into the distance.Game explained why he decided to repost the image, writing that, "Sometimes hip hop takes a lot more than it gives." The West Coast recording artist clarified that he is not trying to put the three on the same level but that, "if 2Pac was here he would've more than likely embraced this new generation of rappers along with the last because that's how passionate he was about the children of then that would become the adults of now flourishing in life."Choosing to upload the post one month after we lost X was probably a conscious decision for Game.
