 According to reports, a man named "paramedic of the year" in Polk County, FL was arrested on Monday for his role in stealing COVID-19 vaccines.
Joshua Colon, 21, is facing charges of forgery, fraud, and misconduct after admitting to assisting a supervisor with forging paperwork to get three syringes filled with the Moderna vaccine.
"The investigation is ongoing, including what role the supervisor has in the theft of the vaccines and the creation of fraudulent and forged medical records," said a statement from the Polk County Sheriff's Department.
The 21-year-old placed blame squarely on his supervisor. "Colon advised he did not question his supervisor in reference to the missing vaccines, however, he immediately became suspicious," however, "Colon did not report this incident to anyone within Polk County Fire Rescue."
