Timbaland Thanks Jay-Z & Drake For Their Help Through His "Darkest Moment"

Addiction can be one of the most destructive and difficult obstacles in one's life, whether physically or mentally. However, when you have people who really care for you by your side, they can help you conquer any demons you may face. While speaking to Shannon Sharpe on his Club Shay Shay podcast on Monday (May 15), Timbaland recalled how Jay-Z and Drake helped him through a very tough time in his life. Not only that, but the legendary producer remarked quite candidly on how their impact was more meaningful than they could ever know.




"JAY-Z is a prophet," Timbaland expressed. "God sent him. I ain't never seen nobody like him. Hov actually raised me, and he don't even know it. He raised me in the music business. He was so prolific, so wise beyond his age, that I was just amazed at just watching him. That's why I had a different bond with Jay when it comes to my music. We was rewriting the Bible, in a way." In addition to Hov, he also took the time to thank the Canadian superstar for his guidance.

"Even Drake told me," Timbaland continued. "That's why I'm like, these guys are special to the world. Now, once they give you the information, it's up to you to use it. I didn't come out until the darkness, man, and that's why I say, it's all love with these guys. They helped me during my darkest moment." Of course, testimonies like this are incredibly hard to hear, let alone stand by as a person who saw the light of recovery. Still, the 51-year-old is appreciative of the fact that others were able to see what his struggles blinded him to.




Meanwhile, Rick Ross was another rap legend who recently gave Drake and Jay-Z their flowers, albeit for very different and less serious reasons. Moreover, Rozay named them as two of the few rappers who hear a beat with him, write and record something on the spot, and stand by its quality.
