MARIAH THE SCIENTIST ARRESTED OVER 'SAVAGE' ATLANTA NIGHTCLUB ATTACK

Mariah The Scientist has been arrested after being involved in a brawl inside an Atlanta nightclub that left a woman badly beaten.
Mariah, who is Young Thug's girlfriend, has been accused by a woman named Cleopatra Dues of assaulting her at Atlanta hotspot Cavo Kitchen and Cocktail Lounge on March 29.

According to the police report, which was obtained by TMZ, the singer (real name Mariah Buckles) grabbed Dues and ripped her wig off her head before dragging her around the bar, causing injuries to her legs.

The alleged incident was also captured on video by onlookers, but it is unclear if it is actually Mariah in the clip.

Dues, who is a rapper from Staten Island, has said she wants to pursue charges.

She told the police she did not know why she was attacked and had no prior interactions with Mariah, who was later booked on a battery charge before being bonded out the same day.

Mariah has yet to comment on the alleged incident.

The "Spread Thin" star recently claimed that she would be waiting for Young Thug even if he faces a lengthy prison bid if he is found guilty in his ongoing YSL RICO trial.

During an appearance on Angela Yee's Way Up With Angela Yee podcast, Mariah discussed how their relationship has stayed strong despite Thug being behind bars since May 2022.

"I think in the beginning I was so sensitive about it. I was so emotional, I was crying all the time," she said. "It was like, you can't be crying when you got a man in jail because it's going to make him sad. So you can't be acting like that."

She continued: "It's almost like jail solidified our relationship. I'm willing to wait it out because I feel like he's the one. If I didn't really see that in him, I probably wouldn't. In the beginning he was like, 'I don't know how long this is going to take so if you just want to go on.' And I was like, 'I'm not going to do that.' He's the one."

Earlier this year, an audio recording of the couple talking to each other over a jail phone leaked online and found Mariah thanking Thugger for gifting her jewelery while calling him "daddy."

KANYE WEST & TY DOLLA $IGN DISAPPOINT FANS AS 'VULTURES 2' MISSES RELEASE DATE AGAIN

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have disappointed fans again as Vultures 2 has failed to land on its expected release date.

Kanye said during his recent interview with Justin Laboy that his second collaborative project with Ty would be released on May 3, but the album has not yet hit streaming services.

After the midnight deadline came and went without Vultures 2, fans flocked to social media to express their disappointment, with one writing: "why I always believe every time he give us a date."

Others were already skeptical given the lack of a rollout and Kanye's history of delaying albums: "Are we gonna pretend to be surprised and disappointed again? He's been doing this same shit since Yandhi lol."

Someone else saw the funny side of it, joking: "he didn't say what year."

The Chicago rap icon initially revealed the May 3 release date in an Instagram DM to who he thought was Baby Keem.

When asked by the user about the status of Vultures 2, Ye responded: "We in the lab now with it. Gonna release in May. May 3rd. When can we go in. Should we do Praise God 2mrw."

After realizing he was actually messaging a fan account dedicated to the Melodic Blue rapper, he wrote: "Bro. I thought you were Keem."

Vultures 2 was originally supposed to drop on March 8, roughly a month after the release of the first installment in the trilogy. Kanye didn't offer an explanation for the delay beyond telling a fan account "we in the lab."

He previously hinted that the album would not be released on streaming platforms and would instead be sold directly to fans for $20.

"We sold 1 million items on Yeezy.com on Super Bowl Sunday so we know it's possible. How do you feel about us not streaming and only selling the album digitally[?]"

He added: "When we do that we won't have the streaming companies in control of the artist anymore."

LIL DURK FACES BACKLASH FOR COPPING HUGE CHAIN DEDICATED TO MUSLIM FAITH

Lil Durk's newfound Muslim faith has landed him in some hot water with some "real" Muslims thanks to his choice in jewelry.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Thursday (May 2), the rapper revealed that he'd had a customized "Star of Islam" chain made to celebrate his beliefs.

Fans on Our Generation Music's Instagram post about the matter pointed out that wearing jewelry, especially if it's made of gold, is haram (that is, forbidden) for men - a fact confirmed by Qu'ran 9:34, which says, "And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of God-give them tidings of a painful punishment."

Check it out below.

In April, Lil Durk put a call out for artists who want to help him put together an event, which he plans on hosting at the Bears' stadium.

"I'ma do a Smurkchella next year at the bears stadium in Chicago," he wrote. "it's gone be a stop the violence event and we gone split half the money with different non profits from big to small. I need help I need every artist who locked in with me to help save these kids."

He then tagged the non-profit organization he created and added: "@neighborhoodheroesfoundation will help put it together let's go this my way of giving back without saying it to look cool."

Lil Durk launched his Neighborhood Heroes non-profit organization in 2020 and has been steadily giving back to his community in the years that followed.

In 2022, they partnered with a non-profit named Chicago Votes to supply inmates and correctional facility workers at the Illinois Department of Correction with 29,000 bottles of hand sanitizer. The initiative was launched to combat the prison system's lack of access to clean water amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

"It's obvious, those locked up or working at a correctional facility are going to be at a higher risk of exposure to COVID-19," therapper said in a statement at the time. "At the end of the day, this disease ain't to be played with, and everyone should have the basic hygiene necessities to help prevent catching this virus. It only made sense for my foundation (Neighborhood Heroes) to collaborate with Chicago Votes and IDOC."

In 2023, the foundation organized a "Dinner with Durk" event in Chicago, giving 30 high school students the opportunity to dine with five mayoral candidates to give the city's youth a chance to talk about bettering their respective communities

DRAKE & KENDRICK LAMAR BEEF MAKES IT TO TNT'S NBA BROADCAST

Drake and Kendrick Lamar's rap beef made it to the sports world as "euphoria" was recently played in the background on TNT's Inside The NBA.

Airing on Wednesday (May 1), the show's roundtable of hosts were surprised to hear the Drake diss playing in the background - with Kenny Smith quickly noting that it looks like they're picking sides and he wants no parts.

"Why y'all putting us in the middle of the rap beef! Come on man!" he asked while laughing. "We in the middle of the rap beef! If you play one side, you gotta play the other."

It took Shaq a minute to recognize what was happening as he asked, "Is that 'euphoria' in the background?" But once he confirmed that was the case, he was excited about the bold choice by the show's DJ.

Charles Barkley was not here for it at all, however, shaking his head as he said, "Rap beef. Grown ass men," to which Shaq replied, "Mind your business."

Meanwhile, fellow host Ernie Johnson Jr. seemed to not even understand nor care about the conversation as he hilariously tried to continue talking basketball.

Over on another sports show, Cam'ron and Ma$e also recently discussed Kendrick Lamar's "euphoria" on It Is What It Is - and they weren't blown away by what they heard.

The Harlem rappers turned sports personalities shared their thoughts on the explosive track on the their show on Wednesday (May 1), with both men agreeing that the 6 God is winning the battle so far.

"Drake is definitely winning from an MC standpoint," Ma$e said, praising the Toronto native's own recent diss songs "Push Ups" and "Taylor Made Freestyle."

"It took a while for us to get the record from Kendrick and when you wait a while it gotta be outta this world. I think if Kendrick dropped this record right after '[Push Ups] Drop and Give Me 50,' it would have been crazy."

Killa Cam added: "I think Drake is winning. 'Euphoria' didn't really move me. I'm expecting lyrics from Kendrick, you're expecting certain things. The song was kinda long, it took too long to come out - pause. I'm not saying it's bad."

Murda interjected: "It was a good record [but] we didn't wait a while for a good record [...] It's like when you did 'Curtis' [Cam'ron's 50 Cent diss song], it's a certain thing you gotta have in the record that Kendrick doesn't have in his record."

He continued: "You gotta say something that make n-ggas look at the n-gga different. And when he did the, 'I don't want to hear you say n-gga,' that was an angle that we already heard before.

CARDI B & OFFSET FUEL RECONCILIATION RUMORS WITH COURTSIDE DATE AT KNICKS GAME

Cardi B and husband Offset have once again given off mixed signals about the nature of their relationship following a great deal of turbulence in their romance that ultimately lead to the two parting ways last year.
On Tuesday (April 30), both rappers were spotted sitting courtside at Game 5 of the New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76s Playoffs game in Madison Square Garden. The two even seemed cheerful as the giant screens hovering over the wooden floor broadcast them to the cheering crowd.

This, of course, isn't confirmation of the two reconciling, though it does point in that direction considering they have been spotted together before since their breakup in 2023.

Check out the fan-recorded clip of both superstars at the basketball match below:

Back in December, the "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker confirmed that she and Offset had broken up. The Bronx rap star made the bombshell revelation shortly after the Migos alum was accused of sleeping with Chrisean Rock by Blueface.

The Georgia native immediately shut down the allegation and even the mother of his children didn't believe the claims, though she did admit that she perceived it "as a sign" for her to move on.

"I've been single for a minute now," the 31-year-old said on social media. "I know today has been an eventful day. I don't pay mind to none of that. I don't care about none of that. I don't know if y'all been getting clues from me from my Lives, from my Stories, when I put certain music [up] or from my unfollowings.

"When it comes to today's events, I don't think it's true. I don't care to find out because I've been single for a minute now. I have been afraid to - not afraid - I just don't know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been a sign."

She continued: "The last time I got on Live, I kinda wanted to tell you guys, but I didn't know how to tell you so I changed my mind. But it has been like this for a minute now.

"I want to start 2024 fresh, open. I'm curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah, I'm excited! New look, new life, new everything [...] I've been going so hard for 2024 to go directly as I want it to. I feel like in 2017 I was single, and that's when I worked the hardest."

Less than a month later, Cardi admitted she slept with Offset on New Year's Eve because she "needed some dick" that night. Furthermore, the duo were spotted at the same restaurant in Miami Beach on Valentine's Day back in February

YOUNG GURU BREAKS DOWN KENDRICK LAMAR'S HIDDEN DRAKE SHOTS FOR YOUNGER FANS

Young Guru has shared his thoughts on some of the Easter eggs in Kendrick Lamar's "Euphoria" diss aimed at Drake.

The famed mixing engineer and producer took to Instagram Stories on Wednesday (May 1) to break down some of K.Dot's subliminal references for younger fans who may not register the references.

He wrote: "I realize some of my young people and my students have never seen 'The Wiz.' If you came up in a Black household it was mandatory. The dance scene in Oz is incredible but it points out that pop culture is fake. The Wiz changes the colors and people just go along with it. Richard Pryor later admits that he is a fake and a phony."

He added: "Teddy Pendagrass [sic] got into a car accident and had to live the rest of his life paralyzed in a wheelchair."

The track, which arrived earlier this week, begins with a vocal snippet that sounds somewhat like gibberish, though when reversed, it's actually a clip from the 1978 film The Wiz.

The moment in question comes from Richard Pryor's character, Herman Smith/The Wiz, who says: "Everything they say about me is true. I'm a phony."

K.Dot took the internet by storm when he finally fired back at Drake on his blistering new diss song.

The track finds the Compton rapper unloading on his longtime rival for several minutes in response to Drizzy's own diss records "Push Ups" and "Taylor Made Freestyle."

After opening with a sample of Teddy Pendergrass' "You're My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration," over which K. Dot refers to a "pathetic master manipulator" who is "paranoid," "spiraling" and "fabricating stories on the family front," the song kicks into life with a sudden beat switch.

From there, Kendrick throws jab after jab - and even a few haymakers - at the 6 God, using everything from his parenting skills, alleged use of ghostwriters and rumored plastic surgery to his appearance, tough guy persona and attitude towards women as ammo.

The Pulitzer Prize winner also accuses Drizzy of sending a cease and desist letter in attempt to have "Like That," his chart-topping collaboration with Future and Metro Boomin that reignited their long-simmering feud, taken down

SZA SAYS SHE'S ONLY CONSIDERED AN R&B ARTIST BECAUSE SHE'S BLACK: 'IT'S A LITTLE REDUCTIVE'

SZA isn't a fan of having her music categorized in a single genre as she believes it limits people from appreciating her full range as an artist.

In an interview with Dazed published on Wednesday (May 1), the 34-year-old superstar discussed her image in the public eye and how she has been marketed in a way that doesn't justly reflect her material.

"The only reason I'm defined as an R&B artist is because I'm Black," the New Jersey singer said. "It's almost a little reductive because it doesn't allow space to be anything else or try anything else. Justin Bieber is not considered an R&B artist; he is a pop artist who makes R&B, folk music, or whatever his heart desires.

"I simply just want to be allowed the same opportunity to make whatever I want without a label, [without it being] based on the colour of my skin, or the crew that I run with, or the beats that I choose. I want "F2F" to be seen as what it is. I want "Nobody Gets Me" to be seen as what it is. I want "Kill Bill" to be seen as what it is."

She added: "At the same time, it's nothing to get bent out of shape about, because it's just how people are processing you. As long as I don't process myself that way. I don't necessarily box myself into anything. I'm just trying to make music, trying to vibe out and enjoy the experience."

Whereas SZA clearly has her qualms about how she has been presented in the music industry, she hasn't lost sight of how her fans continue to recognize her brilliance. Last month, she expressed her gratitude to her supporters for making her realize just how great of a song "Snooze" is, especially since she didn't initially see its charm.

"Snooze" also won Best R&B Song at the 2024 Grammy Awards and was recently named the greatest R&B song of the streaming era by Spotify

DRAKE, KENDRICK LAMAR, EMINEM & MORE RETURNING TO TIKTOK AS UMG DISPUTE COMES TO AN END

Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Eminem are among the countless music industry titans who have had their catalogs restored on TikTok after Universal Music Group parted ways with the social media platform earlier this year.

On Wednesday (May 1), both companies announced a "multi-dimensional licensing agreement" that will once again make UMG's entire discography available on the platform following a three-month dispute.

"This new chapter in our relationship with TikTok focuses on the value of music, the primacy of human artistry and the welfare of the creative community," the music corporation's chairman and chief executive officer Lucian Grainge said about the reconciliation. "We look forward to collaborating with the team at TikTok to further the interests of our artists and songwriters and drive innovation in fan engagement while advancing social music monetization."

TikTok's CEO Shou Chew added: "Music is an integral part of the TikTok ecosystem and we are pleased to have found a path forward with Universal Music Group. We are committed to working together to drive value, discovery and promotion for all of UMG's amazing artists and songwriters, and deepen their ability to grow, connect and engage with the TikTok community."

The joint statement also addressed the rise of artificial intelligence in music: "TikTok and UMG will work together to ensure AI development across the music industry will protect human artistry and the economics that flow to those artists and songwriters. TikTok is also committed to working with UMG to remove unauthorized AI-generated music from the platform, as well as tools to improve artist and songwriter attribution."

The two companies failed to agree on a new deal relating to artist compensation and AI back in January, which in turn prevented a number of artists from having their music on the social-media outlet.

UMG alleged that the social-media platform accounts for "only about 1% of our total revenue," which they said was evidence of "how little TikTok compensates artists and songwriters, despite its massive and growing user base, rapidly rising advertising revenue and increasing reliance on music-based content".

They also accused the outlet of trying to "intimidate" them by "selectively removing the music of certain of our developing artists" but keeping songs from better-known ones.

Additionally, their letter said: "TikTok's tactics are obvious: use its platform power to hurt vulnerable artists and try to intimidate us into conceding to a bad deal that undervalues music and shortchanges artists and songwriters as well as their fans."

TikTok replied with a furious statement of their own that read: "It is sad and disappointing that Universal Music Group has put their own greed above the interests of their artists and songwriters," the app wrote. Despite Universal's false narrative and rhetoric, the fact is they have chosen to walk away from the powerful support of a platform with well over a billion users that serves as a free promotional and discovery vehicle for their talent.

"TikTok has been able to reach 'artist-first' agreements with every other label and publisher. Clearly, Universal's self-serving actions are not in the best interests of artists, songwriters and fans."

Universal Music Group are one of the biggest record companies in the world with several major imprints such as Interscope, Republic and Def Jam under its umbrella.

This affected numerous A-list artists, including Beyonc , Nicki Minaj, SZA, The Weeknd and Post Malone.

Muni Long was particularly frustrated by the fallout as she took to TikTok soon after to share her thoughts on the matter, suggesting that she was in therapy because it felt like her career was being sabotaged.

"I mean, it's not like they are refusing to support my music until I prove that it's valuable by investing my own money, and maybe, possibly, lucking up on a hot TikTok trend or anything like that," she wrote, referring to her viral "Made for Me" challenge

50 CENT RESPONDS TO GERVONTA DAVIS HOSTAGE CLAIM ABOUT FLOYD MAYWEATHER: 'THIS IS REAL'

50 Cent has weighed in on a shocking claim in the ongoing spat between Floyd Mayweather and Gervonta Davis, saying he believes it - a belief that has allowed him to get in some digs of his own.

Taking to his Instagram on Saturday (April 27), the G-Unit head honcho posted some tweets from Davis, who took several shots at Fif's friend-turned-foe Mayweather, including a claim that Floyd needed "a wire" in order to get "home."

This was a nod to a claim Davis had just made: that Mayweather was being held hostage in Dubai.

"[He's] in Dubai and can't leave becuz he been taking n-ggas money and not doing what they paid him to do," Davis wrote on Instagram.

50 appeared to take Davis at his word, writing: "Oh nah this shit is real. [Davis] would not say no shit like that if it wasn't official. Me and Champ [Mayweather] be beefing but he my brother. I got some money if he need it !"

The beef between the boxers stems from "Pretty Boy Floyd" saying earlier this week that other fighters were emulating his flash without putting in the necessary work.

Davis took this as a direct insult and unloaded with his hostage claim in return.

Mayweather's social media indicates that he was indeed in Dubai at the beginning of this month, though there is no evidence that he is being held there.

Check out 50's post below.

Fif, of course, isn't shy about trolling Floyd Mayweather, as he did back in February when he roasted the boxer for his stance on Diddy's recent sexual assault allegations.

The retired boxer appeared on The Pivot Podcast where he refused to condemn the Bad Boy boss over accusations that he allegedly assaulted four women, including his ex-girlfriend Cassie.

"I'm not gonna speak bad about P. Diddy," Mayweather said. "'Cause he still a Black man. Mistakes happen. And I can't say if it is or not a mistake, but things happen in life. And P. Diddy's business is P. Diddy's business. It's not my job or anybody else's job to go on the internet and stomp him and kick a man while he's down.

"My take on it is: it's not my business. I don't think it's right at all and I don't condone it. Even if that happened to my daughter, I would be hurt but that's a choice that my daughter made."

In an Instagram post on February 21, 50 shared a video of Mayweather's comments and took aim at his long-running rival.

He wrote: "[palm on face emoji] they didn't even ask him about this, Champ is you stupid or is you dumb? Get me the fuck out ya head, you sound like a hater. DIDDY DO IT ? COMING soon."

50 spent many years ridiculing the boxer's reading abilities, including in 2014 when he challenged the undefeated champ to read a page out of a Harry Potter book.

"Floyd will you except my ALS/ESL CHALLENGE," he wrote at the time. "I will donate $750k to a charity of your choice, If you can read a full page out of a Harry Potter book out loud without starting and stopping or fucking up. lmao."

The pair previously squashed their beef in 2022, but it appears their relationship has since soured

T-PAIN ANNOUNCES SECOND VOLUME OF 'ON TOP OF THE COVERS' SERIES AT STAGECOACH FESTIVAL

T-Pain fans have received some good news, as fans of the rapper will now be able to enjoy another installment of On Top of the Covers, his hit project from last year where he performed other peoples' songs to great acclaim.

The rapper made the announcement onstage at the Stagecoach Festival on Friday (April 26), where he took the stage as a surprise guest during Jelly Roll's set. The pair performed "All I Do Is Win" and "Buy U A Drank," in addition to paying tribute to the late Toby Keith by duetting on his "Should've Been a Cowboy."

The performance was wrapped up with Jelly Roll performing a medley of Hip Hop hits, including "Boyz N Da Hood" and "Lose Yourself."

Check it out below.

In February 2023, Tallahassee Pain announced a seven-song project fittingly titled On Top of the Covers, which dropped on March 17 of that year.

T-Pain surprised fans with a versatile array of covers ranging from Sam Cooke, Sam Smith and Journey to Chris Stapleton and Black Sabbath. He also invited his Nappy Boy label signee NandoSTL to duet with him on a cover of "That's Life," a song made famous by Frank Sinatra.

"You've been asking for it and here ya go bro," he wrote. "A T-Pain cover album to end all cover albums.....from T-Pain. 'On Top Of The Covers' dropping March 17th alongside an intimate set of shows. More on that later tho ... so stay tuned for more updates."

The covers project had been in the works for a long time, dating back to when T-Pain won The Masked Singer in early 2019 by covering songs from the likes of Montell Jordan, Joan Jett, and Sam Smith.

"This covers album has been years in the making. I started recording this right after I won The Masked Singer," he told Rolling Stone. "It got put on hold for a bit but now that I'm independent, I'm able to do whatever I want to do through Nappy Boy Entertainment and this is something I've felt strongly about for a long time."

The 38-year-old continued: "These songs are not what you'd expect when you hear that T-Pain is doing a covers album and that is what I think is cool about it."

Though T-Pain said at Stagecoach that part two of On Top of the Covers will be coming "real soon," he didn't announce a release date
