The actor and author sat down with Extra in an interview shared on Wednesday (October 18). Referencing the portion of Worthy where she discusses the topic, Pinkett Smith elaborated on the seemingly callous interaction with the Death Row mogul.
Having to receive Pacs ashes in that way was a really devastating moment & to just get him in this little cardboard box, she explained. And yeah, I was very rageful about the whole thing. He was [cavalier about the delivery.]
When asked if Suges energy made her believe he was behind 2Pacs murder, Jada chose not to pass judgement.
One thing Ive learned not to make assumptions, she responded. Lord knows so many assumptions gave been made about me of what people think they know front-facing. And theres always more to the story so I cant make assumptions.
You can watch the clip below:
Amid Duane Keefe D Davis recent arrest in relation to 2Pacs murder, Suge Knight was accused of holding up the investigation by a retired LAPD detective with intimate knowledge of the case.
The claim was made by Greg Kading, who was the lead detective of an interagency task force launched in 2006 to investigate Biggies 1997 murder and who wrote the 2011 book Murder Rap: The Untold Story of the Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations.
His book theorizes that 2Pac was killed by South Side Compton Crip Orlando Baby Lane Anderson, who was allegedly handed the murder weapon by his uncle and fellow gang member Duane Keefe D Davis.
Davis the only remaining suspect who is still alive was recently charged in the rappers murder, marking the first-ever arrest in the 27-year-old case.

2PAC & WILL SMITH WOULDVE BEEN REALLY GOOD FRIENDS, SAYS JADA PINKETT SMITH OCTOBER 17, 2023
In an interview with Rolling Stone published earlier this month, Kading blamed Suge Knight for Pacs 1996 death going unsolved for almost three decades.
If theres anybody in the world to blame for this taking 27 years to solve, its Suge Knight, he said of the Death Row Records co-founder, who was in the car with 2Pac when he was fatally shot. He knew the moment it happened who did it.
And all Suge had to do when Las Vegas [PD] asked him to come in and sit down for an interview, all he had to do was say, They pulled up alongside, I looked right across the car, I saw Keefe D in the front seat. Thats all he had to say: I saw Keefe D. That alone, that witness statement wouldve changed everything.
He added: Theres nobody else who could have helped more than him, and he didnt, because evidently, his reputation was more important than 2Pacs life.
Kadings comments come shortly after Suge Knight broke his silence on Keefe Ds arrest, telling TMZ that he wont testify against the 60-year-old if called to do so and that he doesnt believe Orlando Anderson was the one who killed 2Pac.
I never had nothing bad to say about Orlando because [&] he wasnt the shooter, he said. It wasnt Anderson, so thats all I got to say about that part. On Monday (October 2), Ms. Hill announced 10 additional stops across North America including Vancouver, San Francisco, Detroit, St. Louis, Atlanta and more. All North American dates will be co-headlined by Fugees, with tickets for the new dates going on sale this Friday (October 6) at 10 A.M. local time.
In a statement, Ms. Hill noted the importance of the tour as well as the lasting impact made by both the album and Fugees:
Ive almost felt compelled to carry a torch or to keep a light shining regarding the continual performance of the Miseducation album, she said. I believe theres been a reason for thatand the Fugees coming back together for performances too feels like unfinished business were destined to handle. The connections are real and uncanny, and the magic and synergy between us has not been deterred by time.
She continued: I believe the messages that we and the art we made embody something moving, meaningful and important for us and for the world. We gave voice and image to possibilities that emblazoned so many musical directions after us. As we were inspired, we also inspired countless artists who have shown up to express themselves in this musical space.
Both the Miseducation and the Fugees material challenged and expanded convention, by paying homage to the past, while richly embracing the present, and emblazoning the trail for the future. We represent not just ourselves but our influences and our peers who took art, culture and inspiration very seriously- who reshaped the landscape for ourselves and for those who would follow after us. Im grateful to be able to celebrate this classic material and re-present it to an audience in this time.

TMZ spoke with the Death Row Records co-founder over the phone on Monday (October 2) to get his thoughts on the recent developments in Pacs long-running homicide investigation, which saw Keefe D arrested by Las Vegas police last week.
The 60-year-old former gang member has been charged with murder with the use of a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang, marking the first time charges have been made in the 27-year-old case.
Well, surprise, number one, Suge said while reacting to the news. Because I dont think Keefe D would ever get arrested, nor do I want to see him get arrested.
Lets get one thing straight, first and foremost: me and Keefe D played on the same Pop Warner football team. And whatever circumstances if he had an involvement with anything, if he didnt have an involvement with anything, I wouldnt wish somebody going to prison on my worst enemy.
Knight, who is currently behind bars serving a 28-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter, also claimed that Keefe Ds nephew, Orlando Anderson, was not the shooter, contrary to popular belief.
There were only two people in the car; Pacs not gonna tell the story, I aint gonna tell the story, said the former record executive, who was sat next to 2Pac and also wounded during the fatal drive-by shooting.
But I can tell you this: I never had nothing bad to say about Orlando because [&] he wasnt the shooter [..] It wasnt Anderson, so thats all I got to say about that part.
When asked straight-up if hell take the stand if called to testify against Keefe D in the case, Suge replied: I wouldnt be. Well, number one, Im not gonna get on the stand and testify on somebody for what? [&] I wouldnt go, I wouldnt testify. None of that shit.
Suge Knights comments echo those of a witness who testified in the weeks leading up to Keefe Ds arrest that Orlando Anderson wasnt the shooter. The witness told a Las Vegas grand jury that it was actually Deandre Big Dre Smith who shot 2Pac. Smith was allegedly sat in the backseat of the car from which the shots were fired. Detectives believe Anderson was sat next to him, while Keefe D and another man named Terrence Brown were sat up front.
Keefe is the only suspect who is still alive. He is alleged to have orchestrated the hit as retribution against 2Pac, who alongside his entourage had attacked Anderson in the lobby of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas the night of September 7, 1996.
Hours later, a car pulled up alongside Pac and Suge Knights BMW sedan at the intersection of East Flamingo Road and Koval Lane and opened fire. The All Eyez On Me rapper was shot four times, while his label boss was struck in the head by a bullet fragment.
2Pac died in hospital six days later after succumbing to his injuries. He was 25 years old Send Blog · Share on Facebook · Bookmark on Delicious | Posted by blmnetworks | Wed, September 20, 2023 at 3:05 PM |
BIRDMAN BELIEVES THE SOUTH WILL 'NEVER' LOSE GRIP ON HIP HOP DOMINANCE
Birdman has claimed that the South will remain at the top of the Hip Hop food chain for years to come.
The Cash Money Records co-founder recently sat down for an insightful conversation on the 85 South Show, where reflected on Southern Hip Hops early struggles in the 1990s be taken seriously by the East and West Coasts, who at that time were the dominant regions.
The East and the West was the last two places that would embrace our music if you were from the South, Birdman said. Its always been a competitive thing for us with them cause they felt like they was better than us and we felt like we was better than them, especially in our neck of the woods, the South.
He continued: Youll have a hit in the South and itll take a long time to hit in the East and the West. But once they caught onto us like it is now, I dont think theyll ever get it back. We here forever, cause they had it forever. The East and the West, they had it forever.
It was challenging for us coming up. Very, very challenging because they wouldnt play our music in no kinda way.
Birdman then gave props to Jermaine Dupri for kicking down doors for Southern Hip Hop.
Jermaine Dupri really broke that barrier for us down South cause he went up there and really made them play our music cause they wouldnt play our music at all, he said of the So So Def hitmaker, who in addition to his solo success played a key role in the careers of Da Brat, Kris Kross and other 90s rappers.
I got a lot of respect for Jermaine Dupri. They wouldnt play our music and Jermaine Dupri went up there and was fighting for us. Our music would be his down bottom, and itd be four, fix, six months before itll be hit on the East and West Coast.
But now, it aint like that. Our music hit more up there than down here, but aint nothing but love for the East and the West. Birdmans sentiment is one that is shared by many Southern rap acts although the question of who is responsible for putting the South on the map is a hotly-contested one.
During an interview with AllHipHop last month, CeeLo Green said that his legendary Atlanta rap group Goodie Mob deserve credit for paving the way for Southern raps eventual dominance.
I think thats definitely our contribution to the culture and to community being able to spearhead and set into motion the rise and reign of Southern Hip Hop, he said. We fought those first wars, and we fought for the civil rights and the equality of Hip Hop. And with that equality, we gave the sentiment and the sound a certain kind of quality.
He continued: There was an accountability here of where we wanted to do it pridefully, effectively and successfully. It was very important to have integrity as a curriculum as we taught it to be as it flowed through and was passed down as an inheritance to the ones who wave that banner today. Meanwhile, Jermaine Dupri previously took credit for New York radio stations playing Southern Hip Hop, echoing Birdmans above comments.
The reason New York plays down South music on the radio is because of me, JD said during a December 2022 appearance on The Gauds Show. Bone Crusher and the YoungBloodZ were all over Hot 97 in a way that like nobody could ever imagine. And I hired DJ Envy to work for me.
He added: My attack on New York radio and the New York streets from the South is like no other. Nobody, no other company, nothing. Not as far as back then, now everybody else moving forward, that door opened cause I was out there beating the streets. Video from the charitable event showed that Popcaan interrupted 10Tiks performance, allegedly due to his use of profanity in front of young attendees.
Some onlookers viewed Popcaans intervention as a sign of disrespect towards 10Tik, who gained significant attention in 2021 with his hit Roll Deep. Others argued that 10Tiks choice of language was inappropriate for the charitable event.
On Monday drawing inspiration from a recent incident where Popcaan attacked Dancehall singer Denyque over a suggestive t-shirt depicting him eating a watermelon 10Tik seemingly seized an opportunity to mock the Inviolable deejay.
He posted a video of himself smashing a watermelon on the roadside and teased a supposed diss track, titled Wrong Fruit. Sweet sweet Jamaica! We nuh response a WHOO!!! #wrongfruit, he captioned the video.
In a subsequent Live video, 10Tik a former firefighter further addressed the situation, arguing that the word he used isnt considered bad globally and should only be deemed inappropriate when used disrespectfully.
Stop talk bout bad word and youths. You cant teach youths nuh fi cuss bad word and den when dem reach 18, bad word ah weh dem ah get paid fi cuss. Bad word is weh dem get admired fi cuss, the deejay said. Because the word is not bad anywhere else in a di world, so how ah word fi be bad? Weh di the word mean? Di word have meaning? he continued.
So dats why you see people a grow up a tun fvcking ediat. A bay double standard teaching and principle uno in ah. The only time a word bad is when yuh ah use it against a person, even mi friend dem, it nuh matter wah di word is, he said.
He elaborated further on the power of words and their impact: It could ah even be a t-shirt. You nuh see a melon we use and kill boy & ah we represent fi di yute dem in a real life.
Popcaan, not one to stay silent, took a more indirect and comical approach in his response.
On his Instagram Stories, he appeared to take a jab at 10Tiks dental hygiene, writing, Quick fun facts, you are not allowed to dis or style nobody if you have rotten teeth!!! accompanied by a series of laughing emojis.
Meanwhile, fans online have criticized 10Tik for his statements. You haffi guide the youths right, said an IG user.
Others commented, Yo this is pure ignorance to the highest. Man ask if word have meaning? and, So dat mea[n] say u teach dem fe smoke, gamble and drink because dem ago tun 18 and dweet anyways? >
