The Eminem hype cycle has begun. The rapper has been quiet for nearly four years, but fans are feening for what he has to say on his upcoming album. Not just because he's been gone for so long, but because the title of the album is, provocatively, The Death of Slim Shady. Em will be closing the book on his iconic alter ego, which means he will be bringing it back to the beginning of his career. 50 Cent popped up in the teaser video for the album to call Slim a "psychopath." The bigger revelation came on Instagram, though, when the rapper hinted at the album's production.

50 Cent hopped in the comment section of The Death of Slim Shady teaser to hype up fans even more. He announced that Dr Dre, the man who put both him and Em on, will be producing the album. "This sh*t got some heat on it," he wrote. "Dre back at it!." This is music to the ears of Eminem fans, since Dre was crucial in developing the Slim Shady persona. He produced the rapper's breakout single, "My Name Is," and served as an executive producer on The Slim Shady LP. He also provided beats and creative input for Em's subsequent four releases.

Eminem Hasn't Worked Closely With Dre In Decades

Dr. Dre has continued to work with Eminem over the years, but his involvement has lessened. He only worked on the interludes for the rapper's most recent album, Music to Be Murdered By. He was nowhere to be found on Kamikaze, and received only an executive producer credit on Revival. 50 makes it sound like Eminem and Dre are linking back up in a more significant way than they have in decades. The two men haven't lost any respect for each other in this time. If anything, their appreciation for each other's abilities has grown.

Dr. Dre praised Eminem's lyricism during a recent appearance on This Life of Mine with James Corden. He went as far as to call Em the greatest rapper of all time. "His imagination is off the charts, and I don't think anyone would disagree with that," he noted. "I think he's the best MC ever. Point blank, period. I don't think anyone that's rapping can touch Eminem on that microphone." It'll be exciting to see what these two cook up for Slim Shady's final chapter.

Joe Budden is always looking for the angle. He's been chronicling the feud between Drake, Future and Metro Boomin on his podcast, and he thinks the next chess moves will be made on the road. The former rapper theorized that Future and Metro Boomin will purposely schedule their tour in an effort to ruin the attendance for Drake's upcoming OVO fest in Toronto. He went as far as to say that the duo will enlist the help of another Canadian superstar, The Weeknd, to drive the point home.

Budden noticed that Future and Metro's Toronto date may line up with the same weekend as OVO Fest. If true, he's confident Drake will push the dates back. "If The Weeknd comes out on that Future tour stop," he noted. "I have Drake moving that weekend. He's moving the weekend." The rest of the podcast panel hated Budden's theory. Regardless, he stood his ground. "This wouldn't be the first time he moved OVO fest," he added. "I don't think there's any shame in that when you spend as much money and as much manpower to put this weekend together."

Joe Budden Thinks Drake Will Push Back OVO Fest



Joe Budden insisted that The Weeknd was the key artist in this game of concert chicken. He believes if the "Starboy" singer shows up to the Future show, it will take the wind out of Drake's sails. His rationale is that Weeknd is a bigger artist. "I would think that the second day of OVO Fest has a greater turnout the day there's not a Future show," he posited. "Cuse that's a weekend. That's a whole weekend."

The feud between these artists is not letting up. Firstly, Future and Metro dropped the "Like That" remix with more Drake disses. Secondly, The Weeknd crooned a few disses on the duo's song "All to Myself." Future also guested on Nardo Wick's "Back to Back," which saw him mock Drake using his own song titles. It's safe to assume these artists will be performing their diss records in Toronto. If Drake does decided to move forward with OVO fest the same weekend, however, fans will be forced to pick sides. Things could get messy. To use Joe Budden's own words: "let's see."

Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR have a legendary partnership dating back to 2013. The latter was the first artist signed to Drake's OVO label, and he's been a key collaborator on the last decade of Drake albums. The 6 God has returned the favor by hyping up PND's solo outings and dropping a guest verse once in a while. He's nowhere to be found on the singer's latest, PARTYNEXTDOOR 4, but he's been busy feuding with entire rap industry. Nevertheless, Drake found time to praise PND for dropping another stellar body of work.

Drake's Instagram Story was dominated by PND content on April 25. There were screenshots from the music video for "For Certain" and photos from the singer's wrap party. The thing that really clicked with fans, though was when Drizzy praised the quality of the album overall. He posted a screenshot of the single "No Chill" with the caption: "Played this 100000 times before release." The rapper lamented not being able to count his spins towards the song's overall numbers. "Wish they logged my streams."

PARTYNEXTDOOR has often been described as the introvert to Drake's extrovert. The two performed together during a 2022 concert in Toronto, and the latter commented on this dynamic. "I don't mean to put you on the spot or anything. I know you hate this the most," he noted. The "Push Ups" rapper then talked up PND's impact on his music to the crowd. "I'm so grateful for you," he announced. "I would not be the artist I am if it wasn't for you. This is really my favorite artist in the world."

Drake isn't the only who's impressed by PARTYNEXTDOOR 4. PND told Billboard that he has never put more work in on an album, and is thoroughly satisfied with how P4 turned out. "This is the proudest I've felt," he admitted. "I'm excited to grind even more for the next [one]. I'm in love with how hard you should work for it." He also doubled down on his preference to stay out of the spotlight. "The only thing that's important, that has changed my life, is dropping music," he told the outlet. "I'm not worried about the fame."

The streamer wars continue. Kai Cenat and iShowSpeed are two of the most popular streamers on Twitch, and they've decided to capitalize on the rap beefs dominating pop culture by staging a beef of their own. iShowSpeed struck first with a diss that saw him leak Cenat's phone number. He followed it up with another diss, Drake style, but Cenat finally responded on April 26. The streamer went all out with the production design, and actually dressed up as a samurai to bomb on his opponent.

Cenat performed his diss during a live stream, over a booming drum beat and pitched up vocal sample. He goes after iShowSpeed's intelligence (or lack thereof) multiple times, with bars about getting horrible grades in high school. He also clowns his fellow streamer for striking out with a girl. "She was in college, and you had no knowledge," he asserts. We're not dealing with wordsmiths here, and it shows. Kai Cenat does bring the showmanship, though. In addition to his samurai costume, he decks out his background with flowers and fake grass. He even urges iShowSpeed to go outside and "touch some grass" while pointing at his prop.

The diss tracks between Cenat and Speed have been flying back and forth for months. The former actually started it by dissing Speed over the beat to 50 Cent's "In da Club." Speed responded quickly, then ran it back with a second diss in which he brings up phone numbers (get it). "What's your number, Tyla," Speed mockingly sings in reference to Cenat's failed attempt to woo Tyla. Cenat tried to ask the singer out on a date during a live stream, and she turned him down. "She said no! She said no, Kai," he adds. Speed's second diss and Cenat's response actually dropped within hours of each other.

Kai Cenat has been getting it from all directions lately. The streamer was recently called out by Kanye West for criticizing his clothing line, and dubbed an "industry plant" by the rap icon. Cenat denied these claims and defended his stance on Ye's clothes. "Ye, just send me some new pants bro," he said on a recent stream. "Like no cap... I'm far from an industry plant. I done got this sh*t out the mud." Both men are engaged in rap beefs, though, so there probably won't be much more to the Cenat vs. West saga.

In recent months, much of the news surrounding 50 Cent has been from his relentless Instagram trolling campaign. He was one of the first to start taking shots at Diddy last year when the first lawsuit against him filed by Cassie broke. Unsurprisingly, he's continued his trolling throughout the controversial Lil Rod lawsuit and the rap mogul's homes being raided. That campaign has included just about any "evidence" 50 can find including inmate recordings and AI-generated images. He's also taken shots at almost anyone who comes up in the story, for which he's been threatened with violence.

But now he's trying to expand a different project he started last year. According to AllHipHop, he opened up G-Unit studios in Shreveport earlier this month following approval granted last year. Part of the celebration even included the town labeling it's opening day, April 18, as 50 Cent day. "Through the expansion of G-Unit in Shreveport, my aim is to embody the spirit of conscious capitalism to focus on creating jobs, stimulating commerce and contributing to the economic growth of this vibrant community. I envision [making] Shreveport a beacon of the entertainment industry," he said during the launch of the studio. Now he has even more ambitions for the area. Check out his newest plans below.

His next proposal to the city centers around a sports and entertainment complex. He's proposing turning the Expo Hall into the new G-Unit sponsored complex and has some ambitious goals for it. The pitch includes mentions of professional basketball outings, a variety of other sports including boxing and MMA lineups. But the center can also host concerts and a variety of expos and conventions. The same city council that approved the last building will also vote on this one.

50 Cent despises Sean "Diddy" Combs. It's become a hip-hop factoid at this point, and given the latter's criminal charges, 50 seems to be in the right. The "In da Club" rapper has clowned Diddy relentlessly on social media and has even announced plans to release a documentary about Diddy's assault allegations. 50's feelings don't really warrant a closer look, right? Well, according to Benzino, they do. The ex-editor of The Source claims that 50 has a personal reason for hating Diddy (beyond his crimes). It may have to do with a woman.

Benzino went on the We In Miami podcast on April 25. He discussed a myriad of topics, as he always does, but things really heated up when he mentioned Diddy. He asserted that Diddy and 50 dislike one another because they were both involved with the same woman, Daphne Joy. 50 Cent had a child with Joy, who then went on to date Diddy. In Benzino's estimation, 50's feelings for his baby mama led to him developing a hatred for the Bad Boy mogul.

Benzino admitted that he would probably feel the same under the circumstances. "If me and my girl break up, and then, two months later, he's banging out my girl," he posited. The word that the former Source editor arrived at for 50 Cent is "salty." He told We In Miami that the G-Unit honcho has been taking shots at Diddy because of Joy, rather than moral outrage. "A lot of n**gas are going to try to play like you don't," he conceded. "But you gonna be a little salty, you know what I'm saying? So he's... to me? He's a little salty." It's worth noting that 50 has denied having feelings for Joy in the past. During a recent Twitter exchange, the rapper claimed that he was happy bring friends with the mother of his child and nothing more. "Me and puff fight over business sh*t," he wrote. "If he like the girl, he like the girl I don't give a f*ck!"

Peter Gunz was riding high in the late 1990s. The rapper scored a major hit with the single "Deja Vu (Uptown Baby)," which peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100. It was during this period that Gunz began to make real money, and compete with the likes of Jay-Z and Dame Dash. Unfortunately, the rapper's taste was not up to snuff. Peter Gunz recently went on the BagFuel podcast to discuss his fame, and he claimed the Roc-A-Fella honchos mercilessly clowned him for his ride.

Gunz went out and bought a new car as soon as he could. "Back in the days, the Honda Accord Coupe was the sh*t to me," he recalled. "I paid full cash." It was during a random visit to Diddy's restaurant at the time, that Gunz was forced to second guess his purchase. "Jay-Z and Dame Dash come walking out," he recalled. "N**ga said, 'Number one rap record in the country, you in a Honda Accord. Brooklyn n**ga said that to me, man." The rapper went back to the dealership the next day in hopes of getting a truck, but the damage was done. He drove $10,000 off the lot when he bought the Accord, and was therefore unable to recoup his money. Gunz relented and traded the car in for a Lincoln Navigator.

The story doesn't end there, however. Gunz's trip to get get a new stereo system in his car led to him coming across Jay-Z's Range Rover. Both of the rapper's cars were being worked on at the same place, so Gunz decided to go through Hov's stuff and snatch a bottle of Louis XIII cognac. "I boofed that sh*t," he admitted. "That n**ga got like 70 bottles of that sh*t somewhere. That was karma. N**gas screamed on me, made me go lose $10,000." There's no hard feelings between the rappers today, but Gunz and Jay-Z could never quite on the same page.

Peter Gunz tried to get a gang of rappers to appear on the "Deja Vu" remix. He told Live89 FM that he reached out to Mase, Nas and Jay-Z for verses, and they all said yes, with the intention of repping their specific borough. Gunz said the labels for each artist kept it from happening, unfortunately. "I think we deprived the world of a ridiculous remix," he said. "[Because] it wasn't for their label."

Overnight, OVO R&B singer PARTYNEXTDOOR released his highly-anticipated new album PARTYNEXTDOOR 4. The project is his first in 4 years since 2020's PARTYMOBILE and the first new entry into his self-titled series of projects since the third edition in 2016. Much of the discussion of the album leading up to its release revolved around the controversial album cover. The NSFW cover grabbed a ton of attention as soon as it was announced and fans wondered if they would be able to get their hands on a physical copy. "At the end of the day, it's a level of musicality and genius-level production that comes along with being next to him.
