   Joe Budden Claims He's Earned Over $4 Million From Podcasting: 'Y'all Can Do It Too, This Is Not Unimaginable'
Rapper turned podcaster Joe Budden recently claimed that he's earned a significant income from podcasting.
The media personality stated that in totality, his revenue from The Joe Budden Podcast falls around $3 - $4.5 million after taxes in the decade since its inception.

Joe Budden, 43, made the remark during a recent episode of his eponymous podcast series. After one of the guests inquired what kind of payout a career in podcasting offers, the Love & Hip Hop alum stated:
"Altogether in the whole 10 years? About $4 mil."
As the hosts of the show, along with the guests and Joe Budden himself snickered at the comment, suggesting the number is inflated, he continued:
"Early on we were doing it for free. Then we hit a little lick, Spotify. Then n**gas left, the building crumbled a little bit. My friends came to save the day. Probably about three and a half to four a half mil."
Doubling down on his remarks moved the room to laughter even more, as many began to blatantly call out Budden's apparent bluff. Taking a look at a breakdown of the numbers, it's no wonder why one may feel skeptical about whether or not the entertainer was being truthful. Budden's claim would mean that he's earned an average of about $400,000 a year from podcasting alone, which appears to seem a little far fetched.
His associates were even more tickled after Budden went on to claim that before taxes, he's earning about $7 million from podcasting. Despite him laughing along with everyone else, he encouraged any podcasting hopefuls to keep going, insisting that they too can achieve the success he says he has, stating:
"Years of hard work, y'all can do it to. It's not unachievable. This is not unimaginable. If you work hard and keep your head down to the finish line and just focus on your content."

Update: R. Kelly's 20-Year Sentence In Child Pornography Case Upheld In Appeals Court: 'No Statute Of Limitations Saves Him'
Update #3 (April 26, 2024): R. Kelly has experienced another loss in court. On Friday (April 26, 2024), news broke that the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld his conviction and subsequent 20-year sentence on child pornography and enticement of a minor charges in Chicago.
Before being sentenced to two decades, R. Kelly had already been sentenced to 30 years after being found guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking charges in New York.
In its latest ruling, the appeals court referred to that case as the "elephant in the room," and said it was kept "in mind" when handing down the 20-year sentence.
The ruling reads in part,
"In its words, "the nature of [Kelly's] offense is horrible, horrific..." We will not second-guess that exercise of discretion."
The appeals court pointed out that a jury convicted R. Kelly on some charges and found him not guilty on "several" others, "even after viewing those abhorrent tapes."
"No statute of limitations saves him, and the resulting sentence was procedurally proper and - especially under these appalling circumstances - substantively fair."

In response to the decision, R. Kelly's attorney Jennifer Bonjean told TMZ,
"Our fight is not over. We will see review from the USSC (SCOTUS) on the statute of limitations questions at a minimum. And he has habeas remedies at his disposal. And if we win in NY. He will be entitled to resentencing in Illinois. So this story is far from over."
Update #2: (Mar. 9, 2023): R. Kelly's legal team is continuing to fight for his freedom.
As previously reported, last month R. Kelly was sentenced to 20 years in prison in a Chicago federal courtroom on charges of child pornography and enticement of a minor. The 2-decade sentencing came after he was previously given a 30-year prison term for his 2021 conviction on racketeering and sex trafficking charges in a New York federal court.
However, it's important to note that it was ruled 19 years of the 20-year prison sentence would be served concurrently (at the same time) as his other sentence. And one year would be served consecutively.
Meaning, in total, R. Kelly is looking at 31 years in federal prison.
Despite the "I Believe I Can Fly" singer avoiding being behind bars for 5 decades, his legal team has filed an appeal today (Mar. 9) of his 20-year sentence to the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago.
Update #1: (Feb. 23, 2023): New details have surfaced surrounding R. Kelly's federal child-offense case.
R. Kelly was sentenced today (Feb. 23) to 20 years in prison in a Chicago federal courtroom on charges of child pornography and enticement of a minor.
As you may recall, the "I'm A Flirt" singer is already serving a 30-year prison term for his 2021 conviction on racketeering and sex trafficking charges in a New York federal court.
Thankfully for R. Kelly, US District Judge Harry D. Leinenweber reportedly said in court that 19 years of the 20-year prison sentence would be served concurrently (at the same time) as his other sentence. However, one year would be served consecutively - after that sentence is complete. This means that R. Kelly was able to avoid being behind bars for 5 decades and instead faces 31 years in federal prison.

Original story: (Feb. 23, 2023): R&B songster R. Kelly will learn the fate of his future behind bars on Thursday (Feb. 23).
According to reports, R. Kelly is finally scheduled to receive his sentencing for the slew of charges in his federal child-offense case.

In September 2022, 56-year-old R. Kelly was convicted on three counts of production of child pornography and three counts of enticement of a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity.
Earlier this month, Kelly's attorneys filed a motion for a new trial, arguing that one of the prosecution's witnesses had lied under oath. However, just last week, the "It Seems Like You Ready" crooner's request was denied.
At this moment, Kelly is serving a 30-year term for his 2021 indictment of racketeering and sex trafficking. In addition to that, he's now up against the officials' petition for the judge to slap 25 years onto his (already) extensive prison time, which would be ordered to complete after the duration of his current incarceration.
Although Kelly's minimum is 10 years, prosecutors (seemingly) indicated that his lack of accountability called for more severe punishment. In recent court documents, they wrote:
"Robert Kelly is a serial sexual predator who, over the course of many years, specifically targeted young girls and went to great lengths to conceal his abuse of Jane and other minor victims. To this day, and even following the jury verdict against him, Kelly refuses to accept responsibility for his crimes."

However, Kelly's defense expressed that whatever the outcome of their client's case is, it should be implemented in his present jail run.
When speaking of the "unlikeliness" that Kelly, who (if given the additional 25 years) wouldn't see the light of day until his 80s, suggested that he would be no threat to society at that age.
They documented:
"In the unlikely event that Kelly was to survive his 30-year sentence, there is no reason to believe he would reoffend as a geriatric in his mid-80s. The overwhelming majority of Kelly's criminal conduct was committed a quarter century ago."
Once at the pinnacle of the music industry, a uber-successful Kelly fell from his rise to stardom after a number of sexual abuse accusations came to the forefront. Allegedly, over the span of decades, the Chicago native had been intimately inappropriate with various underage girls. He notoriously came under fire in the early 2000s, after a leaked home video of Kelly and a 14-year-old female hit the media.

Doja Cat Slams Fans Who Bring Kids To Her Shows: 'IDK What The F**k You Think This Is But I Do Not Make Music For Children'
Rap star Doja Cat would prefer not to have children in the crowd while she's performing.
The musician took to X (formerly Twitter) recently to reprimand fans who take kids to her concerts, explicitly asking them to stop doing so.
In one post, Doja Cat, real name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, 28, wrote:
"idk what the f**k you think this is but i don't make music for children so leave your kids at home motherf**ker"
She added in another:
"im rapping about c*m why are you bringing your offspring to my show"
And followed up with:
"rapping about eatin d**k and p**sin on his v-cut, leave your mistake at home*"
After one of her followers questioned whether or not she was high, Doja Cat, responded:
"maintenance"
Despite the fact that Doja regularly finds herself at odds with her more than 5 million X followers over her controversial remarks, the point she's making this time around seems like a valid one. Along with her typical racy lyrics, the "Attention" artist also often incorporates sexual imagery in her performances which was on full display during her recent headlining Coachella set.

Update (April 26, 2024): About a month after Candace Owens was fired from conservative media company Daily Caller, Sage Steele has been named as her replacement in its forthcoming adult cartoon series, Mr. Birchum. It's about a stern and rigid Teddy Roosevelt Junior High teacher and his family.
Sage Steele said of starring in the show:
"When I got the call from Adam and the Daily Wire team to be part of Mr. Birchum, it was a no-brainer for me! I'm a huge fan of everyone involved and am honored to be included in such a powerhouse lineup of comedians. The CEO, Jeremy Boreing, revealed the decision on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, March 22, writing,
"Daily Wire and Candace Owens have ended their relationship."
Candace Owens, who joined the Daily Wire in 2021, confirmed the news on X and quipped,
"The rumors are true- I am finally free."
She added how fans can continue to support her, later noting that she'd also be reviving her personal YouTube channel, where she'll be dishing out her own commentary on hot-button topics, "after a brief hiatus."
Interestingly enough, the announcement came one day after Owens appeared on The Breakfast Club and discussed her relationship with Daily Wire founder Ben Shapiro. She had reportedly used her Daily Wire platform to make remarks that were deemed antisemitic about the Israel-Hamas war, sparking tension between her and the company.
Still, she told co-hosts DJ Envy, Charlamagne, and Jess Hilarious Thursday (March 21),
"Ben doesn't have the power to fire me. And it's not even saying that we disagree on Israel and Palestine. I just think that he's - obviously, his wife is Israeli. He spends a lot of time in Israel throughout the year. I think when you have an emotional attachment to some place, that sometimes your reaction to anything is going to be more extreme to it. You know?"

TV personality Ellen DeGeneres is opening up about ending her show following allegations that she fostered a toxic work place environment.
The comedian admitted that the situation was "devastating" for her and expressed her disdain over the way her eponymous talk series forcibly came to an end.

Reportedly, Ellen DeGeneres joked about the matter during a taping for an upcoming Netflix comedy special. After making a remark about being "kicked out of show business", the 66-year-old stated:
"Honestly, I'm making jokes about what happened to me but it was devastating, really."
She continued:
"I just hated the way the show ended. I love that show so much and I just hated that the last time people would see me is that way."
If you recall, The Ellen DeGeneres Show aired its final episode back in 2022 enveloped in workplace controversy. At the time, Ellen DeGeneres was facing backlash after several of her former employees came forward, accusing executive producers of harassment, as well as alleging an atmosphere of racist comments and microaggressions. DeGeneres apologized to her staffers over the ordeal and subsequently announced the final season of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, though she insisted she wasn't concluding it because of the allegations.
Reflecting on what she endured on the comedy special, however, the jokester got candid while discussing the hate she received and what was going through her mind at the time. She stated:
"What else can I tell you? Oh yeah, I got kicked out of show business. There's no mean people in show business."

"The hate went on for a long time and I would try to avoid looking at the news. The 'be kind' girl wasn't kind. That was the headline. DeGeneres reportedly went on to open up about the mental toll the situation took on her ego, self esteem, and her marriage and also remarked that when Hollywood when hates you, it often outweighs any love trying to seep in. The full comedy special will reportedly hit the streaming platform in the fall.

Billy Porter Shares He's Skipping Met Gala As He Mourns Death Of His Mother: 'I Have To Take Care Of Myself'
Billy Porter won't be gracing the steps of the Met Gala this year.
The Pose alum, 54, shared that he's not attending fashion's biggest night next month as he continues to mourn the death of his mother, Cloerinda Jean Johnson Porter-Ford.
He told E! News,
"I just lost my mom. I have to take care of myself, so I'm doing that. And that means not going to the party sometimes."
He added that "Daddy's tired," and pointed out,
"I can't do everything."

"doing lots of prides and music festivals, going on tour of the U.K. So, I'm slowly trying to build that part of my audience."

Billy Porter announced the death of his mother last month, sharing on Instagram that she died peacefully with her family by her side.
"With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our loving mother, Cloerinda Jean Johnson Porter-Ford. We were right beside her when she took her last breath, wrapped in our arms."
He saluted his mother as a brave warrior, adding,
"Mommy lived life to the fullest despite physical limitations pressed upon her."
He praised her as
"the personification of true Christianity and her unconditional love is a template that the world could benefit from employing. Her example is what we continue to strive for."
He ended with,
"We are heartbroken she is no longer here with us, but find solace that her suffering has ended. Her fight was long and hard-she did it with grace and integrity. Mommy will remain forever in our hearts as she continues to guide us from above, as she has done on this Earth."

Amanda Seales is calling out Shannon Sharpe.
The multi-hyphenate, 42, recently sat down for an interview with the retired NFL star, 55, and opened up about the criticism and ridicule she's received over the years for her outspoken activism in the Black community.
During the chat, she also shared that she is on the autism spectrum. Shannon Sharpe appeared to question her diagnosis, leaving Amanda Seales to have to explain.
On Friday morning (April 26), Amanda Seales criticized Shannon Sharpe via Instagram for his reaction.
She recapped their conversation and wrote,
"Shannon: But have you been clinically diagnosed?
Me: Yes, there is a clinical diagnosis for autism.
- He then hung his head and exhaled in frustration because I did not answer his question."
She continued,
"This is called deflection. Why? Because I was not going to be pressured by this man who was interrogating me with absolutely zero love for me into proving something to him that l. By his line of questioning, he had already committed to undermining."
She added that her response "may be confusing to some," so she is now "clarifying."

During her chat with Sharpe, Seales said she was "just recently diagnosed" with autism. She added that Black autistic women encouraged her to discover if she had the condition, pointing out that she's wondered if she was autistic in the past.
She added that her mother began to do research and realized she showed signs of autism when she was a child.

She shared that she believes her father is also autistic as he's "brilliant," however, "he was never seen the way he needed to be seen," so it "turned into narcissism."
Sharpe then stated that one being gifted or seeing things "differently" doesn't automatically equate to being autistic, and Seales said it's connected to "how my brain functions."
She said there are "clinical diagnoses" for autism and Sharpe asked if there was a diagnosis specifically for her. She replied,
"There are clinical diagnoses for autism, yes."

About an hour before her IG post, Seales defended her diagnosis and called out another publication for suggesting that it "is not valid" because it did not come from a clinician. She continued,
"What's not valid is people speaking on things that they don't know about. My autism diagnosis is not for you all to discuss. It's not up for your debate.
She added that those who question a diagnosis that did not come from a clinician are proving that they "don't know anything" on the topic.
"This is further proof of why we as Black people, particularly in Black media spaces, are our own worst enemy."
She warned that those who try to "degrade" and "defame" her in the comments will be blocked.
"I again will no longer argue what I know with what you think."

Late last night (Apr. 24) Solána Imani Rowe, famously known as SZA, 34, revealed to her 8.4 Million X followers that she initially wasn't the biggest fan of her hit record "Snooze." The track, featured on her second studio album "SOS," is considered by many as an undeniable bop. In addition to the tune being loved by her supporters, "Snooze" earned SZA a few awards, including a Grammy!
However, despite how well the record has been received by the masses, it apparently had to grow on SZA. Speaking on her initial feelings, she said,
"I'm not gon lie snooze wasn't my favorite when I made the album,"

Texas Mayor Receives Package Containing Noose & Warning To 'Get Out Of The Race' Amid Reelection Campaign, FBI Investigating
A Texas politician is unfortunately dealing with racist attacks from members of his community.
According to reports, the mayor of Arcola, Texas, Fred Burton, received a package on Tuesday (Apr. 23) containing a noose and a threatening letter urging him to drop out of his reelection race. The note warned,
"Get out of the race now!!"
Speaking on the matter to a news station, Fred Burton, who is a Black man, described the moment he opened the package as "a slap" to the face. He continued,
"Especially on a Black man's face that he has to open up mail like that and see something like that. I thought we were better than that as a society."
And added,
"This (election) has been the most, I guess, if you will, nasty. But I won't let that situation, that mail, I won't let those type of racial, if you will, throwbacks, affect me in this race."
Local authorities are investigating the incident and have shared that the FBI is helping them get to the bottom of things. Chief Arika Carr-Bryant of the Arcola Police Department shared on Wednesday (Apr. 24), that "several inconsistencies" with the package were found so far.
"The package had inconsistencies such as a missing postmark and a misspelling of Scranton, PA. Despite these discrepancies, it was confirmed to have been delivered by the USPS, leading us to treat this as a credible threat."
In a separate statement, Carr-Bryant also said,
"It's very disturbing that in 2024, we are still at this point of receiving this type of mail or someone doing this type of crime."
It's sad to say but Fred Burton isn't the only Black political figure who has had to deal with this type of situation. As previously reported, in 2022, a noose was found in an area of the Barack Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. Construction for the museum, scheduled to be opened in 2026, was temporarily paused after the hate symbol was discovered.
