EmpowerHer is a community-driven initiative based in Uganda, founded by Marcie Mawan, a South Sudanese advocate and creative whose personal journey through anxiety and depression inspired her to create a space where women could heal, express, and grow freely.

Having experienced the importance of mental wellness firsthand, Marcie was moved to turn her pain into purpose to advocate for mental health awareness and to empower her generation to speak openly, seek support, and embrace growth without shame.

EmpowerHer was brought to life through the encouragement and support of a dear friend, Ruth Sanyu Mugabi, whose faith in Marcie's vision strengthened the foundation of the initiative.
